Good mystery manga. So much murder and psycho people though.



Victorique de Blois is literally just another one of your genius young detectives The mysteries were interesting and the mood was dark and thrilling but the manga has no plot at all, just mystery after mystery after mystery.

Anime was better as it had the character's background stories. Watch the anime if you want something more complete.

Gosick is probably the first time I've actively thought the anime adaptation was better than the manga version. The manga and anime are virtually identical in the way the mysteries and character interactions were presented, but there is one major difference in the manga - it literally ends with nothing resolved.

Watched the anIme. It had a fitting ending which suited this story well and the plot was unique and Victoique developed as a character and so did Kujou (slightly). All conflicts were resolved and there were no plot holes. An intriguing story worth my time.

I've been enjoying it so far. I think Victorique is a fabulous, funny character. Sort of a mix of Sherlock Holmes and L Lawliet (Death Note). The main character is rather boring however, but I'm ready for the next part.

The romance is rather adorable, and works well in contrast with the continual murders and deception. The mysteries, while not especially complex, are entertaining. The characters are rather interesting, especially a certain credit stealing nobleman.

While a lot of aspects of the story are certainly not original. It still comes together for a very pleasant read. Its not in my favorites yet, but it will be very possible for it to end up there with future developments.

I originally thought this was only loli/moe crap, but after seeing a review describing Gosick's world as some kind of crapstatic world, (quite incompatible with moe crap), I gave it the benefit of the doubt.

Indeed, from the beginning the mysteries are quite dark, lots of people die, and by the end of the story (I watched the anime), lots of things went really bad, and the mood is anything but light (rape backstory, conspiration, war...(!) O_o )

In the end, nothing trenscendent, but the two protagonists are really sweet and the plot as well as the atmosphere are not uninteresting, and quite surprisingly grim.
=>Not bad...

If you like cheap mysteries and lolis, this isn't a bad story. Just don't come into this expecting good writing. The characters are obviously based off Sherlock Holmes (the detective character smokes, just like Holmes) and Dr. Watson (the sidekick character is former military, just like Watson) but flubs them completely personality-wise.

Well, this is a nice manga. We have a very well drawn character, but the overall art isn't that much. The main couple in the story is really cute and we have many funny situations during the story. It's gothic in the best sense: the plot remembers me allan poe a lot. So it's not a forced gothic, it's gothic of high quality. I wouldn't recommend this to any person, but those who like darker stories will simply love it.

Definitely not my favorite—not in a billion years. But it's a good read nonetheless.

The art style is not my style or of my liking at all, but it's not bad at all. The clothing is a meh, but the background structure is beautiful.

The story is not the best mystery I've read, but they're interesting enough for me to not want to put down until the next chapter. Theyre also a bit predictable and awfully clichéd... But still a good read.

Definitely recommended for those who aren't looking for a serious series.
