Description
During a flashback, an interviewer inquires Kuzumi Taiga, a prospective student for Seinagi Private High School, on what he would do if he could use magic, during his entrance interview. He replies, "take over the world", with an outburst of laughter, from an attractive girl, following his answer.
After the entrance exam, the school rejects his application; although he recalls almost nothing after this event, he does recall the girl, and believes the cause of his school of choice rejecting his application involves her.
Wandering around outside of the school the next day, Kuzumi tries to enter... More...

this was one of my fave mangas ever witch is why when i red the ending i was so pised i want to rate it 10 but i just cant cause of that ending thay end with a timeskip witch personaly would have work if thay wer to show what happend after insted thay have him transfer to another school school so he can actuly build up to a gold plate (you use difrent ranked plates to use magic) and leaves with a promis to come back and thats it it sucks i recamend reading only if you have the ability to imagen a better ending cause otherwerds its a great manga

Chapters 97+ never should have been published.

This series was great, but I will say this if you hate crappy endings DO NOT READ THIS. The manga starts out great and it had a ton of room to grow but then you read volume ten and it's over. The mangaka should have just left the series on hiatus at volume 9, then if he continued it later, at least then it wouldn't have that huge time skip.
If you are looking for romance in this series I'll just say now, don't. The romance is almost nonexistent. The manga has a good storyline and tons of other positives but it sorta seems like the mangaka forgot to add the romance. If it had romance then I would have given it a 10/10.
The rating I give it is the rating I would have given it if chapters 97+ never happened. There was to much stuff left unanswered. If I included those chapters in my rating it would be 7/10

it's so sad that they ended this so quickly and without the possible promise of a sequel uwahhhhh but im still hoping for one. why wasn't this popular in japan its really good.
To answer Jack_T's review the point is they get a wish at their graduation using their own magic
the story is intersting, its somewhat new yet familiar, think of it as "law of ueki" and maybe a little bit of "magical girl lyrical nanohana". law of ueki because of the main charcters tenacity and passion and magical girl lyrical nanohana because nof the magic system thing that they used.
the concept was amusing and intersting, the characters were as i can tell true to their original type and some were developed just a little bit (sadly).
the story was funny and held a lot of promise. the bad things that one might nit pick about this manga is can be considerably ignored if weighed against the good points but the ending as i have mentioned above and by other reviewers was that it was too sudden due to its unpopularity within japan itself and was therefore dropped.
the signs of it having a sequel is rather low as the mangaka Kano Yasuhiro-sensei is working another manga this year(2008) and there haven't been any news if there will be a sequel to Mx0.
being the ever hopeful dreamer that i am i wish that this manga would be continued or at least have an alternate ending to it so everyone who likes/liked this manga please try and support Kano Yasuhiro-sensei works (especially this one) and then maybe, just maybe it will be picked up

What was the point of all the slow development and momentum the action was picking up if it was just stopped in it's tracks? It makes everything pointless.
what's the point?

i read the first five volumes and i just couldnt get over the fact that its a magic school and they can only perform magic with their cards ON SCHOOL GROUNDS! and nowhere else, what's the point?
i didnt mind that it was a carbon copy of negima, that didnt bother me.
i just couldnt figure out why you would invest so much time in a skill no one normal can know about and you can only use in a designated area.
i nominate this one of the worst ideas i've ever heard of for a story.
everything else with the series seemed a bit cliched as well.

I'm honestly surprised after discovering this manga less then a week ago, reading it, finishing it, and now finding out that it was canceled right in the middle of presenting a new arc. The manga is far from perfect and is fairly typical for the shounen genre but heck that hasn't stopped Naruto or Bleach yet so I was rather curious as to why this manga simply didn't seem popular in Japan. The ending of it is disappointing as it is obviously rushed but it does leave it open for a sequel if it's ever possible one will be made. It's unfortunate that they can't simply continue to release it in America as it was vastly more popular stateside then in Japan, I know I for sure would buy it every week if they did bring it over and continue it because it has a LOT of potential.
It deserves to be read if you enjoy fantasy/magical scenarios mixed in with shounen and school life/romance, fans of Mahou Sensei Negima! should check this out without question... Just be forewarned that it does end right as it seems to start building up into a new arc.

really awesome series. concept (magic school thing) seems a bit overused ever since harry potter came out, but this has a new twist on it.
the only reason i gave it a 9 instead of 10 was cause the ending, if it could be called that, was really, really forced. i actually missed the little "the end" at the bottom, so i kept checking back to see if a new chapter was up, and when i finally checked this site, i found out. really a heart-breaker, i wish it would have continued.

I hate to leave my rating at an 8 for this series, but it just got cut short.... I'm hoping the mangaka just felt pressure and had to drop it temporarily with hopes to pick it up later, because this series has SO much promise in it.... Regardless, I recommend the read even if the "ending" leaves much to be desired....

This is a great manga. It had me laughing at part while still being serious. The idea of the main protagonist being the least powerful character was great. Some of his excuses were lame but somehow it worked. I like that everyone had a limited amount of power so that good planning, teamwork and wit to deal with problems. A refreshing change from the exponentional growth of some shonen characters. My major problem is how soon it ended. It was a fairly good ending considering it was forced but it left the whole thing open. I would love to see the author write a second series.
Overall, this manga was AWESOME.

In my opinion, this manga received a spot into my EPIC categories. When reading this, you'll expect good laughs and get dragged into the story. It has good romantic relationship foundation, great development starting from the beginning and near the ending, and overall you will like it. Don't expect to be satisfied with the ending for now, it has a good possibility of continuing. (like school rumble, it rushed and will continue under the name School Rumble Z)
Overall, it builds up an expectation to an even greater (EPIC) ending than what it has now. Hopefully, the mangaka (or author w.e u say it) will continue this series under a new title, or the same and answer the questions it left off with the current ending.
