Excellent Explorations: Stories 1 and 6 (But Read Them All)
Rating: 9.0 / 10.0

I enjoyed all these oneshots immensely! The way all the characters were from the same 'world' gave a solidifying dimension.

All of the stories are interesting reads, but I'm just going to comment on the ones that stood out to me.

My favourite was the first one, Ma Cherie, a period piece. Yanao Rock is amazing at dark gothic era pieces (think: Kuroshitsuji!omg!) The first story in this anthology was touching and dark and delved into basic human needs verses the acceptance of 'evil.' (My heart was pounding when the Masion Master said, facing away from the bat boy, 'Didn't I tell you Letty, not to wander around at night?' :0

Killing Me was the other one that I found exceptional. The scene were the young boy asks to be killed made my stomach lurch. Wow. Art and words of explosive emotional impact. The mangaka explored the concept of how one can consciously remove oneself from becoming connected to another for self-preservation reasons. Forced lack of interest or queries into person's background is the method that Kou, the seme choose. But when the right person comes along, one's resolve can shatter. Instinctive impulses to want or need to know about this person = love. When Kou arrives home, thinking that the 'stray' he has found (that he knows so little about) is missing. . .whamo. Repressed feelings.

Oh! I like this mangaka, indeed I do!

don't get me wrong- I think the chapter summaries are hilarious but they make the manga sound like repetitive shallow smut which it isn't. Each oneshot is different and captures a different mood, from goofy comedy to bittersweet angst. I'm not normally a fan of oneshots because they're usually too short to draw me in but these were all well done. The artwork is very appealing, too. I'm going to keep an eye out for this mangaka!

The oneshots where kind of ok until the last one came a long. Compared to the rest it's too dark.
All the stories are all fluff and love and then Bam! a sadistic bastard molesting a bat boy and imprisoning other child-like creatures that he sells e_e All the fluff went *poof* T-T

The four paged ending with all the characters is just great, my favorite part of the series. I really like how the stories are related to one another. The art is great and the characters are all likable and funny. Every chapter are diverse and will not get you bored. Mostly all chapters are funny and the last chapter is a little deep and angsty. Overall great collection!! She is also the artist for Kuroshitsuji! so the art work will be similar. I wish she have more mangas!!

The drawing is cute, but I'm not really a fan of yaoi character that looks too much like a girl. At some point I feel that the stories are only about a pretty person falling in love with another pretty face. It's too much like some oneshot shojo manga (all about looks) but I guess some people prefer it that way. Haha

I picked this work because I found the opening picture for the chapter "Killing Me". I thought the art was cute so I decided to read it. At the time, I had no idea it was done by the same person who wrote Kuroshitsuji. So... I don't suggest you read it if you picked because it has the same mangaka as Kuroshitsuji. (Unless you actually do like yaoi and aren't expecting anything too extravigent.)

I loved all the stories and art though. Well, accept for the last one. The last one made me cry because Kira-sama went a bit overboard and pretty much raped Letty. (And not even cute rape, just rape.) And I just started crying after that. The only other manga that ever made me cry was Shounen Zanzou(?). So a ten to this manga from me!

xD Hina... no matter how you look at it he has a serious growth defect rofl, 20 years old. No ways. *Laugh* Anyway, most of this isn't classes shota in my country, only one of the stories was (legal age is 16 here) so i felt ok reading this, but one story was, but luckily it was pretty light. I really liked the art style, it was amusing and cute all at the same time, the stories are ok, i like how they all have a link to the previous story - usually in the form of a character bigrazz

It was incredibly boring - so much so that I stopped reading the text half way through.
The art seems shaky and only looked good in the last couple stories.
As these are oneshots, of course there's no story progression, no character development of depth either. It's clear these just work toward the sex scenes, and not even those were any special.
There were no gems or stories that I liked, I'll quickly forget this manga because it's just not memorable.
The shota is not any fun either...

Honestly, the description on the top of the page is much better than the manga itself.
I admit that I have a taste in yaoi that needs the manga to be a certain level, so I don't doubt that other people will like this, but from my own opinion, do not waste your time!
If you want plot or characters then you'll find plenty better out there. If you want good art or great smut then there's better as well. Even simple oneshot collection there's many better ones out there!

Urgh, this was so cheesy. I've read worse though so I'll give it that. It was pretty cute in some areas. I also give it extra points for being all in one universe, I like when one-shots interconnect so that was a plus. I wasn't however fussed on the 4th story because well...yeah how old is he? Also just a note here; wine should not be used as a lubricant!!! I cannot stress that enough, when I saw that I was like 'really.' Food of any kind should never go anywhere down there, ever, it's extremely unhygienic and when I see characters do it it irks me to no end and makes me think that the author needs to re-evaluate sex. (well I mean the sex in manga like this is obviously entirely un-realistic but everybody already knows that.)

Also what was up with that last story? That just put me in a bad mood.
