From Yen Press:
In Academy City, magic and science coexist in an unwavering power struggle. Toma Kamijo, an academically-challenged student in Academy City, wields the power of the Imagine Breaker in his right hand, which allows him to completely negate all supernatural powers – as well as his own luck. When he happens upon a mysterious nun named Index, whose mind has been implanted with the Index Librorum Prohibitorum – 103,000 ancient texts banned by the Church – Toma’s luck is about to be pushed to its limits when he finds himself in the middle of a war he never expected.

i really laugh about this one comment about unnecessary words lol.
there are many LN with this kind of type such as monogatari series and densetsu series by nisio isin, re zero kara, and of course toaru majutsu series too with unneeded description and exaggeration.
yes, i always skip the description and only read the character dialogs, the one in the bracket, and only stop to read back some description lines if i dont know what the situation are, otherwise skip skip skip.
i remember reading one volume of densetsu series and found that only around 30% which is actually meaningful and the rest just full of rubbish description and exaggeration ha ha ha
Okay I admitted that the story is good and original, stuff about near-future technologies including espers vs magic world are really interesting. But the way the writer put the story into words isn't good, or if I may say, it suck.
There are so many unnecessary words throughout the story. Say for example, the sickening detailed description about the surrounding, the reiterative of the obvious, the exaggeration words in characters action, etc. This flaw can get the reader to loss interest. I get the feeling "cut the crap and go to the point already!" or "how many times you have to tell me that crap?". I can not finish a volume of this series in a day while I can finish the whole series of Hakomari in two days.
