Although the artwork is good and the action well done, this manhwa really does not have anything else going for it, even when putting aside the rushed ending. The characters were flat and forgettable, the plot was dull, and including the reason for the quest as an early and exceedingly long flashback did not add anything to the story. Moreover, the point seems to be that the old order is arbitrary and cruel, thus violently replacing it with a newer version of the same is the best course of action... apparently. Although it is labeled "Romance," there is effectively no female lead, as said character has about as much will as a brick and the male lead doesn't think of her much either. As a result, both the conflict and the male lead's suffering are utterly devoid of pathos. The whole work could easily be boiled down to: "Religion is evil, worship humans instead; don't ask why." Are we supposed to actually get anything from this?

The beginning hinted at *much* more than was delivered in the story. It was obvious that the author/artist planned on making this a longer story and the rushed ending ties things up messily. The basic premisis for the story wasn't brilliant, the execution was poor and too much time was spent at the beginning, probably, I'd guess, because the author was still wondering where to take it.
Overall, it could've turned into a better story, but sadly it was axed before that. As it stands, this is a series not to waste your time on.

The entire manhwa was pretty interesting all the way up until chapter 20 where it was axed. It was so obvious that it was rushed, there were no signs of an ending and all of a sudden at least 10 chapters worth of plot was crammed into one chapter.

with that God don't exist preach i can almost swear that the story was done by the artist
given the same preachy attitude you'd find in "Dark Mage"
that attitude ruined the story which was trying to be an adaptation of the classical Erewhon by Samuel Butler
well the action is good and there is some drama its has potential and i hope the author will make it better

It's pretty much shounen though, if this would be seinen it would pretty much be berserk, lol.

I disagree, why would he lead the tribe he hates so much to greatness? That tribe isn't willing to fight for anything except their own lives. Why avenge his father? His father killed himself, who is he going to kill to get vengeance? A pack of monkeys or something?

I like the way this manhwa is going personally, a hero that fights against the tyrants of his time - whatever the reason he fights. Him having the power of the all that have died is pretty sick too, gives it that Humanity vs. Gods atmosphere.

Unlike the rest of the comments who were wrote by people who haven't even read 2 chapters, I'd have to say that this can easily rival Bleach and Naruto depending on what happens with the female lead(won't spoil it for you). I have read 9 chapters so far and it's starting to become really interesting to be honest I'm more hooked then i was with bleach and naruto. The male lead actions are correct and later on you will see that he is standing on the side of the humans rather then the gods, so he fight for all humans and not just one girl. Give it a chance I'm sure you will like it, the only minus is that it's being released to slow, so far only 9 chapters.
Pluses are great art and cool characters

I was immediately intrigued upon reading that synopsis. Hot male warrior on a journey to win the heart of his (equally hot) lover - but boy i was i majorly disappointed.

It's so melodramatic. As a confessed shoujo fan i guess i should be used to it but the dialogue and characters just rub me the wrong way for some reason. Stubborn and rather narcissistic male lead, pretty but constantly weepy female lead - and then of course 'loyal' friends who border on sycophantic. The entire story is driven by the main guy's one tracked mind to save the girl. That's romantic and all but that's his entire goal in life. Rather sad when you think of it - i mean, he should have better things to do - lead tribe to greatness (unchecked) or even revenge and retribution for father (unchecked).

A story with promise ruined by stupid characters who you know you should like but ... don't.

the guys are hot, the girls are pretty, and everything is drawn really well.
dont worry, we get into the story of the girl in the 2nd and 3rd chapters. i am hooked on this and you should read it
well, some of the outfits are rather strange, but if you dont pay much attention to it its fine.

Basically the main character throws everything away for the sake of one girl. One not very special girl (who we haven't even met when he does said throwing away), when he could have anybody else in the tribe. It would be one thing if this act was preceded by a long look at his history with the girl, his love for her, etc, etc, but it's completely out of the blue, just like
"Ooh, I want that girl!"
"Nope, no can do."
"Okay, I'll chop off my arm!"
"Lol, you still can't have her."
"RAAAAGE!"

What an idiot!

I haven't read this series myself so I'm not too sure but I'm certain that 'The Red Soul' is a wrong title for the series. Although the '혼' in the title can mean 'Soul', there is a '에레' before the '혼' which mean the '혼' here does not refer to soul. So I would prefer if the title was changed to its original Korean title: 'Bul Geun Aeraehon' or at the very least 'The Red Aeraehon'
