Oneshot from Muteki Kareshi

Aiko fell in love at first sight with a guy who lent her an umbrella on a rainy day. Later, she met him again on the train to school, but no matter how hard she tries, she still can't confess her love to him. Will Aiko be able to convey her feelings to this guy, whose name she doesn't even know, or will everything remain a beautiful memory of a rainy day?

Innocent love, but the last page ...

... Made me raise an eyebrow. Kkk. Honestly it is a cute story and the artwork is nice to look at, but the ending gave off this: "First love, that won't last all that long" feel to me. Don't get me wrong, it's a very innocent character paired up with the love at first sight setting, but it's just so few things the characters actually know for each other. So, it can develop in all kinds of directions. ^^;

For sure this oneshot is for people who like pure-and-inocent-love-filings. As said the drawing is good. I feel sorry for myself not being romantic enough to like this story 'til the end (I thought "when something's gonna happen ?" even though it's a oneshot....).

I couldn't help but laugh at the end, when the girl finally confess :
Her : " I, I love you Daiki-kun"
Him : "tell me your name."

I just can't stop laughting

I pretty much agree with the three other reviewers. I thought it was a super cute one-shot with nice art, but I do wish it had more of Daiki (if there was a one-shot on his p.o.v. I would read it in a heartbeat). It was just so sweet.

That's all I can say. It was too cute. Aiko is such a sweet girl that you just have to root for her. The drawings are really good and even though you kinda want to know more about Daiki-kun, it's still really cute and heart warming. Wish it was longer.

I was pleasantly surprised by this.

This one-shot is a great "slice-of-life" piece. It portrays sentiments that many girls will or have experienced and is presented with great art and full of honest emotions. This one-shot isn't attempting to tell an awesome story but rather show a time in a girl's life where her feelings meant everything to her. It is neither idealistic nor sugar-coated and was just presented as it is - as if this was an experience the mangaka has personally experienced before. An honest portrayal of one-sided love and a very meaningful, relatable one-shot.

Just to note, don't read this if you're looking for some exploding shoujo romance - obviously you would be disappointed. But read this if you are looking for something realistic that could lead up to a romance.
