Description
There's a serial killer on the loose in Los Angeles and the local authorities need help fast. For some reason the killer has been leaving a string of maddeningly arcane clues at each crime scene. Each of these clues, it seems, is an indecipherable roadmap to the next murder.
Onto the scene comes L, the mysterious super-sleuth. Despite his peculiar working habits - he's never shown his face in public, for example - he's the most decorated detective in the world and has never tackled a cased he hasn't been able to crack.
But this time he needs help.

Briefly, that serie is Death Note's prequel and plot like Sherlock Holmes so if you love Sherlock Holmes you can read it. Can be explained in this way.
so...

Well I'm not writing this right after reading it, so there might be some missing points...
It wasn't bad. Like I said, I enjoyed it. I recommend it.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
So I have to say that I really enjoyed reading it, and just like the writer had said for the Beyond Birthday, I got so obsessive about L - got stuck on the idea, and kind of overlooked the fact that BB was actually "Ryuzaki" - that I feel pretty ashamed about - I can't believe myself.
But he really was so alike L, though ofcourse he would - afterall, he was imitating him.
Anyways, to be honest I've started reading this, cause I was curious about B.B and I really wanted to know more about L . Since he's a character I really like.
Beyond Birthday wasn't exactly like how I had imagined how would be, cause I was expecting him to ...adore L, like, not as a "copy trying to surpass the original" but in a more obsessive way, and because of his self-esteem or power, but because of his L-obsession.
Anyways, to be honest I was kind of disappointed cause in the end all I've got to read about L was some telephone conversations, and only one of them was about his way of thinking, about his idea's of justice. Still It was good, and the writer had tried to show a more human side of L, (Since it was stated that L was thinking of his life as a "fact" to provide justice. and that he thought justice had the power of "kindness" blah blah...)
which I couldn't find much examples of in the manga or the anime. (Excluding the episode L died...)And even though I was disappointed for learning not so much about L, I decided It was better afterall... Being mysterious and unreadible makes him this special afterall :P
About BB
I really think BB's thoughts were reflected good at that part when he was "practising" laughing - thinking that even laughing was a thing he'd need to accomplish, simply everything was meaningless for him since he knew when would everyone's "end" be, so loving/hating/laughing was pointless... He just got obsessed with surpassing L in the end.
...
and I got irritated with the fact that Misora was the one to reveal everything
in the end. the part with Misora and L was ... cute-ish?
