I love this series, but a long time ago I came up against some walls. Now that I have been able to fully read it I can only say, I wish there was more. This series was so good. The relationships between characters was so strong in each their own unique way. I want to see where it will lead them. All I can say about the almost end is that it was so good, that I stayed up all night then fell asleep while trying to pretend to BE asleep so that my family wouldn't make me get up. That plan backfired, they ended up having to wake me up. Either way. It was awsome and I 100% thumbs way way high...................... I only wish there were more.

I stopped reading from volume 9 or so, and from there I would only see instances of the art.

Poorly written, but can I just say--

CHRIST THE ART IS AMAZING

There were a couple of aspects that felt a little rushed in the moment of ending things, but... I must say that the story along with the characters in the series are pretty great, the artwork honestly made me drool in some of the covers since they hit the right spot for girls *wink wink*, besides that, the battles and partnership that the story evoques are top notch, they makes you feel the loser state in which Tsuna started and the feelings when he grew stronger, it makes you want to grow stronger too ;3...

The comedy in the series is awesome, at the end it made crack up in laughter and yell in desperation in stressful parts!!

Anyway, if you haven't read it, please give it a go and see for yourself, this is and it's not your typical shonen manga, but as a girl, you can totally relate to it fully... or that's what I think.

Forever One of My Favorites

I have loved this series so much! While there was potential that wasn't taken advantage of, that's no reason to miss out on reading this great series. From gag to action, the jokes were great and the fighting never failed to please. The character relationships were deep and all the situations were enjoyable. It was a pleasure to get to watch Tsuna and the rest of the Vongola boys mature and turn into dangerous badasses (the sweetest ones in fictional existence probably).

My only complaint would be that there is still so much more I want from this manga.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I want to see them go to high school. Is Tsuna's mother ever let in on the secret? Does Yamamoto's dad ever decide to find out what his son is doing that has him so devoted to the sword? If so how does it change things? Does Ryohei ever figure out its Ipin? How does Hibari overcome the pain of leaving his beloved middle school? And don't start with me about him making that society, he still has to go to school elsewhere. I want so much more!
I wish there was more of the nitty-gritty. The story essentially stops at the place where so much more in terms of violence and true mafia/yakuza action can happen. I guess it's too much to ask for a sequel where we get that kind of manga.

Seriously though people, it's a good series and is what fully won me over to the wonders of manga in general way back when I first started reading.

A little flawed, but what isn't? Wonderful leisurely read.

I don't know about you guys, but I have a lot of time to waste. I've pretty much read all the popular action mangas, and I really have to say this was one of my favourites.
Sure, the plot gets weird at times, even stupid maybe. But it's not that bad when you compare it to everything else, and I would have to say it was rather creative. There weren't any major cliche parts that made me blanch.
Besides, I really loved the characters, and the art was adorable and expressive. I don't go around looking for flaws when I read a manga, and I found nothing that greatly affected the reading experience.
The only thing I would really complain about is the lack of character development in the protagonist, and the lack of "stuff" happening between the protagonist and the girl.
Other than that, I highly recommend this manga, and I think that anyone will be able to enjoy it if they're willing to.

Meh...

Bleh. Well I stared reading this because I saw some stuff about Mukuro and Chrome... and I was at first put off by the first chapters but I had heard that it got better and it did. If the cliché shounen can be considered good... the main reason I persisted with this story is because of a few of the characters and because I felt it would be a waste to drop it when I'd spent so much time on it already. It really isn't the best story, there are some good points but most of it is just a jumble of different and strange storylines that ultimately lead... nowhere...

Plot- There are so many arcs, and hardly any to me really feel at all connected. Sure the characters reappear
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
With all the bad guys now good guys of course!
but other than that there is few things that connect these very bizarre story lines. Yes, I did enjoy the idea of the middle arcs but the first and last arcs are pretty boring. The beginning was bad, then I began to enjoy the story as more characters I enjoyed were introduced then I got bored of the story again and it ended (thankfully). The plot really isn't that deep, and there is barely any character development. The plot repeats like any other shounen action manga; bad guy and defeat then power up and win, then bad guy and defeat then power up and win and so on.

Characters- I already mentioned I read this story for the characters, and truthfully there were some that I found extremely enjoying. However, they were trapped in this manga with a terrible main character. There were so many characters (good and bad alike) that there is no time to really develop anyone and I'm left wishing that some of the characters had their own manga. But alas, they are stuck in this one...

Art- Gets better, in fact it's quite good. The faces are expressive, the lines AMAZING, wonderful details and just an all-around very smooth style that looks wonderful. This is the one point I can say is wholly wonderful.

Other- Don't read it. It's not worth it. There were parts I enjoyed (mostly because of the characters... in fact only because of the characters) but all in all this long story isn't worth the read. It goes nowhere, the main character remains static and all my favorite characters are unfortunately forgotten in the multitude of average and horrible ones. It REALLY isn't worth your time.

4/10- Ok

I agree with the general consensus that it's a flawed, generic shounen action manga with all its plotholes and deus ex machinas; however despite all these I found this to be very enjoyable. Call me a hypocrite all you like for loathing Bleach at the same time (I still haven't gathered my thoughts after finally deciding to drop it after last week's chapter), but nothing is going to change the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Not bad, but is it good?

I dunno where to put this manga, I certainly enjoyed my time with it, but I wouldn't recommend it to any of my friends. Why? Because I can't guarantee they'll enjoy it. The first few volumes are Japanese gag manga that I found to be at best semi-funny and then it transitioned quite nicely into an above average battle manga. However, is the hurdle or reading those few volumes to reach the battle manga part worth it? That's something I've never been able to decide since those early gag volumes are a large time-sink and the battle manga at the end is only 'above average' at best. I am in two minds about this manga - I wouldn't recommend it to anyone to read (there are so many better manga I would recommend) but at the same time I'm not sorry I spent my time reading it.
