Description
From Nagareboshi Manga & Manga Abyss:

Ogasawara Aki is the reclusive, idealistic composer of the popular band Crude Play. Discontented with his life and with no drive to succeed, he meets Riko, the 16-year-old grocer's daughter in a band consisting of her childhood friends, and asks her to be his girlfriend on a whim. Riko, young and innocent, agrees immediately, but worries about her new boyfriend, whom she suspects has just broken up with a woman he cared very much for.

SUPER GOOD

This one has all the ingredients that would make me think I wouldn't like the manga, yet I really do. Superstar + normal girl? Showbiz intrigues? Lame, is what I thought. First pages seemed to confirm that.. but then the story actually begins, and I was baffled. Shoujo with actual decent plot formation and great character interconnections? Give it a shot, it's a rare gem.

Very good

The thing is, this manga has some deep character relationships, which makes it a very good read. The situations are very entertaining and the focalization on specific characters and their thoughts makes it read like a novel, though it might be his default: the art is not top notch, but it's a point that I, among others, tend to overlook.
Every character has his conflict, without turning the manga into useless emotional drama, but giving a thorough explanation, what I mean is that I like all the characters, because they all have their reasons. It really makes me want to read more of this!

I’m really impressed with this piece of work from Aoki Kotomi-sensei. Her art is still not the best but has improved loads and I often find myself studying the amount of detail in her backgrounds. Also, her storytelling and paneling techniques have blown me away. Like someone said, the story reads like a novel, and I have to add that I love the perspectives she used to draw the reader in and bring them closer to the mind of the character. She’s really utilizing manga as a style to its full potential. There are particular scenes that I find very rare and subtle but engaging, such as those in the city at night either on a rooftop or by the bridge. The detail that is paid attention to, the way the images are woven with the characters’ monologues – they are sometimes so subtle but make all the difference between an average series and one that can truly connect with the reader. Much respect in this category.

The characters and story itself is complex and well thought out too. However, I have to say the two main leads’ relationship makes very little realistic sense and it’s further highlighted when juxtaposed with the rest of the series as a whole. Aki is deep and well developed but to be honest he depresses me a bit and the heroine is decent – not utterly stupid or anything typical - but could have had a bit more distinction in personality. It sounds like a contradiction that they characters are complex but not particularly memorable, but it may make more sense if you read it. I’m still willing to read on by all means because it’s rare a manga of this quality comes around these days but I’m more interested to see where the music aspect of the story will go than how their love lives will conclude. Still, I’d recommend this one for anyone looking for a shoujo series that doesn’t leave you wanting a couple of hours of your life back.

It makes me feel depressed...
The characters are complex, too complex in fact and the story-line so far hasn't picked up enough for me to deal with their complex characteristics. Do not read if looking for lightheartedness.
The girl just FALLS in LOVE with this man who is nine yrs older? ON THE STREET?!?!
The story may be original but the love isn't.

The art really irks me and I dislike the way the girl has such a smutty expression at times
But the overall story is really original, the characters have depth
It balances out the emo parts with some lighthearted breaks
So... I would still recommend it overall. Thumbs up.

well,i think that this manga may be the magaka's best so far.i always liked her artwork, and its just getting better,so really no complains there. about the story: it really is better than her previous works in the storytelling-aspect as well, like it takes place in the past,so it gives you a whole-like feeling about the story, not some random plot.and another likable point is to me,that finally the female lead is smart-not in an educational way, cause who cares about that, but she can comprehend the situation almost entirely, and not just wondering for 100 pages if 'he likes her or not,and how is he feeling about her...'-so she isnt dense, just carefree (not like iku...)i can recomend this to anybody, even he/she didnt like the magaka's previous works.

THIS MANGA IS AWSOME! I'M WRITING IN CAPS TO SAY THAT!
Anyways, this manga is really good, it caught my interest in the prologue, and i must say the storyline is really unique, nothing like i have ever read.
The art is cute too. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for something different. Or actually, anybody at all.

Suprisingly good! I really dislike AOKI Kotomi's other works but this one seems pretty good so far. I must admit, I'm not a fan of her artwork but the story so far is amazing. I hope to see further development of the characters.

I loved this. Even though there's only been 2 chapters (counting the really short prologue) I really really really want to read more. Like everyone else said, I feel that Aoki Kotomi-sensei has seriously improved - and she wasn't that bad to begin with. I don't know if it's the pacing of the story, the art, the dialogue, the monologues, or what, but this felt really original and refreshing. And EXCITING. Recommended!
