Lucky Star

Lucky Star's story portrays the lives of several school girls attending a Japanese high school with a very loose humor tone.

The setting is based on the town Kasukabe in Saitama Prefecture. The female lead is Konata Izumi, an athletic and intelligent girl who, despite these attributes, is not in a sports club, and has low grades. Her laziness at school is due to her love for anime and video games and lack of interest in anything else. In other words: she's an otaku.

The serialization began with the four main characters in their first year of high school: Konata Izumi, Kagami Hiiragi, Tsukasa Hiiragi, and Miyuki Takara. As the story progresses, they move onto their second and third year.

BEST MANGA EVER MADE! Brightens my day whenever I read it. If I'm feeling down I just start reading Lucky Star and I'm happy again. Anybody know when the english version is coming out?

Azumanga V 2.0?

Well, maybe. Still a 4-koma, still high school girls, still plotless, still funny, still really really good, but I'd hesitate to simply say 'Hey, yeah, it's just Azumanga Daioh.' Azumanga Daioh was sugary life. This series(at least, if the anime is any indication) is almost a jab at life. And itself.

It does have a life that is uniquely its own. If you didn't like Azumanga tho, you probably won't like this either.

A good serie, and i'm sure that many people can relate to the chracters lol, i sure can. Though it can get a bit boring every now and then, i like it because it has no plotline(in a good way) and it's a slice of life. ^^

This really reminds me of the comic strips you find in your newspaper. There is really no plot here. Sometimes though the next strip will continue with the same idea.
I don't know if it's just me, but I think character development would be nice here.
Art isn't anything to writ home about, but fitting for this manga.
This also gave me some laughs ever now and then. That is quite the rarity in my case. I think it's worth to keep reading. Too band NO ONE SCANLATES IT ANYMORE.

I love this manga, its funny and entertaining, no plot at all, and it is freaking awesome and i also like comedy mangas that dont have to rely on a constant amount of ecchi to be funny, cause after awhile that gets incredibly annoying.

The anime put me to sleep, but the manga was pretty okay. When it's in manga form I'm the one that decides how fast I want to read it, and how much I want to read in a single sitting (usually in small doses). In the anime the pace of the show is fixed, and I'm forced to sit through 20 minutes of it each time. (Although in retrospect I could've just watched half an episode each time... I feel kind of silly now.)

Plus, the 4-koma format helps to remind me that it IS supposed to be plotless, so I can focus on the humor.
