One guy and one girl under the same roof with just puuuree coincidence; it's so cliché yet still sells and I have no objections for this great shoujo setting! >__<

Idiotic Female Lead.

Idiotic and weak. Typical of most shoujo manga, but this girl is just REALLY STUPID. I mean, she's smart academically, but she is just one of the most idiotic girls lacking in common sense. For example
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
she opens the door to the apartment just right after she was scolded for going to Ran's place to put his bento in. Any person, knowing the situation would know not to answer the door in the first place.Same for the issue of practically yelling out loud "our memento!" when it was stuck on the fridge, and writing the address to her mom.

Sure, she's not annoying, but her idiocy makes me cringe. It's not funny, and it basically caused almost every single conflict that happens in the manga. At least some female shoujo leads were very idiotic to the point of adding comedic gestures to the manga, but this one doesn't. =.=

Well, sorry about the rant.

This is a typical shoujo manga. Average, at best, but the drawings are definitely good. The girl is drawn cutely, and male is drawn quite charmingly.

I wasn't expecting it to be great and I agree it was pretty typical, so my expectations were pretty low anyway. It was just something to read and kill time. The ending was so rushed that I didn't even know it ended until I read end in the title. I went on here to check, and it was. Read it if you're bored, but you're not missing out on anything.

Disappointing

The plot had potential, but Ichiko is annoyingly helpless and Ran is a SIXTEEN year old headmaster? Say whaaaaaaaaaaat? Unrealistic. I'm disappointed because it could have been really good. The art is decent.

It's a typical shoujo romance, nothing else to say. Still, irem has a point: this stuff does sell! XD Anyway, it's not too bad and the girl, while a little on the naive (and maybe dumb side), has a stubborn streak and hasn't become unbearably annoying yet. Therefore, I'll keep up with this; sometimes a little cliche is needed to offset other, more dramatic series.

A sixteen year old school principal? say whaaaat!?
obviously this is unrealistic. Them living together too.
Apart from that this was quite nice.

Idiot "smart" lead

As others have pointed out, this was a very typical shoujo that followed all the stereotypical plots for this story's set-up. One of the things that bothered me more than usual was the fact that the mangaka had the female lead be one of the smartest students in the school
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
she even got 3rd in the national mock exam for her grade.

Having an actual smart lead isn't what bothered me, it's the fact that she comes across like such an idiot. Being good at studying, but stupid at everything else in life has a limit too. In any other manga, this character would've been your average C student. After all, I have yet to know anyone that brilliant who needs help understanding algebra (she gets help understanding a formula to determine 'x') not to mention not understanding what to do in any other practical situation in life. Either make her a scholarship student (who has intelligence on her side) or an average student who's clumsy, foolish and doesn't understand what's going on most of the time, not both.

at how cheesy some of the scenes were,
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I chuckled quite a bit everytime Ran-kun punched in some random window or immediately recognized a random criminal like some reincarnation of a 1940s movie detective. Certainly his character belonged in a much rowdier, action based manga, because then the scenes where he did kick ass looked awkward to me lol
. But it was still quite entertaining. biggrin
