A pretty good shojo manga. I liked that the protagonist didn't instantly forgive her friend Namie when she fibbed but I liked that she grew to understand the difference between lies and white lies. Also the romance was nicely done-she didnt try to lead the other guy on like so many other manga nor did she cry buckets over her "brother". It was a romance that was gradual, which, in my opinion, the most everlasting ones. Plus this manga got an extra point for the adorable baby in the last chapter. This mangaka knows my weakness XD

it's not really all that typical. the mangaka doesn't use the 'lying detector' to create ridiculous situations. she could've and then we'd have this mediocre episodic drivel that would constitute shoujo at its worst.
but no. the heroine has to deal with the reality of the human condition. and it's done neatly- concisely. the only really predictable bit has been the revelation at the end of vol 2. i mean, duh.

bonus: no one's needlessly stupid. the lead female isn't vacuous or flighty or overly cheerful.

If you're a habitual shoujo reader, then I would read it. If you're not... I think this is probably too far into the genre to be likable.

The female lead is not that annoying, and though her sixth-sense is a little bit far-fetched, the power lays the foundation of the entire manga, not the romance. Saki, the main character, is not entirely an idiot, and shows compassion and determination at the right spots. She knows when to give up, but also grows as a person, in that she learns that there is a "story behind every lie." I thought that the theme was well-articulated, and even though others insist that it degenerated into shoujo fluff at the end (the 2nd to last page-ish), I think it was a nice thing to tie together the series. The scene after that... well that could have been skipped to save many a stomach.

The male lead, by comparison, appears pretty much one-dimensional for the entirety of the series. But the girl is starved for genuine companionship after the first major plot event, she accepts his... superficialness. He is princely and thus good-looking, ridiculously kind to her, etc. Basically, he fulfills the entire shoujo love interest requirement. Next to perfect, with a supposed "flaw." The drama around his "flaw" was terrible. I'll be blunt about it. Being as the story is predictable, I knew it was going to happen, and I suppose it could have been worse.

That said, combined, I didn't really care much about the female or male lead. They could have ended up together or not, but I really didn't care. Perhaps the story was hard to relate to, but I've read several supernatural mangas where I am capable of connecting with the characters. If I was kind, I would say that the emphasis of the series, despite the over-arcing theme of romance, was on the "lie" thing, which is probably the only great thing about this series.

Her ability does create drama, but it also forces her to learn, and I think this manga does have some character development, at least in the female lead. I really don't think the male lead changes. I believe the author attempted to write off his "development" as the unmasking of his character, but the so-called hidden pasts did little to provide him depth.

Overall, it's not spectacular, but it's not terrible. It's only two volumes too. (There is no way I would read this if it were any longer). The side characters are mildly likable, and I did not find myself wanting to murder any fictional characters (i.e. no annoyingly persistent rivals that shouldn't exist even in shoujo).

Therefore, my recommendation reads: If you have (a lot of) free time and you're a shoujo reader, try it.

To be honest, at first I was expecting the main character to be some sort of Tohru Honda-esque character who's really bright and chipper and the like, but Saki isn't like that at all. As of this comment, there have only been 6 chapters released, but it's enough to show the quality in it. The first arc/story is amazing, and it's incredibly touching. If you like emotional, deep shoujo, definitely give this one a shot.

This manga is pretty great. The story is nice and concise and the plot flows well. The main character is great with common sense and real agency. The story is about lying but explores the multitude of lies. Why does a person lie? Is all lying bad? It is a short read, but wraps up neatly and will not disappoint.

So far, it's been awesome. I find it a very compelling manga, and I love the lead. Even though I'm not going through the same things as any of the characters, they feel very relatable.

Plus, since I've been depressed recently, this manga gave me something to think about. I mean, I may be farther away from the top of the happiness scale than most people, but I'm not at the bottom, either. Yes, things could be better. They could be much, much, much better. But they could also be much worse.
I'm glad this manga helped me remember that, because today that was what I needed.

Overall, an enjoyable, compelling read so far. The art isn't something to rave about, but I was just randomly reading Koi nanka hajimaranai. 'nuff said. xP

I didn't think this series was that horrible, actually I liked it. The art is nice, especially the covers for each volume. I just gave this a lower rating because the actual plot fell so far from my expectations. Saki is a good protagonist, independent, cheerful, and she even has common sense! Midori is also an interesting character, but the conclusion was so disappointing! I honestly thought that the plot would be more about her powers but in the end only one other person knew about it. And seriously, what kind of father is that stupid!? Meh, but read it if you like (false) incest.

Ditto with kichiX's review. Aside from that, the manga started out great, and the second volume wasn't so bad either. But the third was just a huge disappointment. Maybe I'm biased because I wanted Saki to end up with Kou, and because I find the whole "Midori is actually not your blood-related sibling lol" thing just an excuse so it wouldn't be considered incest. Kudos though to the author for making a unique gimmick. The art is a nice mixture of old shoujo style with modern standards. I really like those eyelashes.

I actually didn't expect much from this manga but it was surprisingly enjoyable. It's not too long and the characters were pretty likable. The pacing and the secrets made it a better read. Overall, this is worth your time if you're looking for something to read. The plot is interesting, the art is decent and the female lead is as realistic as it gets for a shoujo manga. It's the epitome of a light-read.

The only thing I didn't like was the end, which was pretty out of place and ruined the pacing.
