I really love complicated stories on simple concepts

I love how this manga has a huge mysterious set up with some darkness thrown in and you think it's one thing, but honestly the reveal caught me completely off-guard and made me realize what this manga is really about: love and speaking truth to emotion.

It's always supernatural themed manga that speak about the power of words and how words are like spells, but I realized in this manga that nothing could be truer. As social creatures, humans relate to each other with communication, and words give name to and ground our reality in a way that is universally accessible. By giving something a name, you speak its truth and make it true, like the question of the tree falling in the woods. When given a name and spoken out loud, love compounds its power and can change people. Many stories have spoken on this theme, and this manga is just one of them.

A great blend of comedy, breaking the fourth wall, sweetness, tragedy, mystery and religion to tell a universal tale, with just a bit of smut as a side dish. Recommended!

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious; or Amazing

While the low rating for this manga is disappointing, but given how this manga truly shows Aniya Yuiji's essence as a exceptionally talented quirky mangaka, the unpopularity is pretty much to be expected.
Aniya Yuiji is a master story teller, especially when you let her have her way, and I cannot for the life of me think of any other outlandish word besides supercalifragilisticexpialidocious to describe what I am feeling after reading this.
I whole heardtedly agree with OmNom in regards to his thoughts on the manga, but I do take exception to what OmNom calls "5 different books of entirely dissimilar genres" because the beauty of this work is in its weaving these seemingly dissimilar genres into one coherent narrative.
Truthfully, I cannot possibly think/imagine of a single flaw in this, or any amendment that I would like to make. From artistic style, to pacing, paneling, the narration, dialogue, monologues, transitions from one character's thought to another and from panel to panel, page to page, volume to volume; all of this is just perfect. The originality and depth in this mangaka is simply awe inspiring
Also, the amount of work Yaoi is Life put in to translating this and contextualizing it with all the TNs (translator's notes) was tremendously helpful.

I feel like I've just journeyed through 5 different books of entirely dissimilar genres and now I'm exhausted lol. But definitely entertained and intrigued. You can't really get bored by Aniya Yuiji in the first place anyway. And because this work essentially is whatever she wanted to write (as stated in her comments - there was no deadline, no restriction, no control from the publishing house throughout the writing process of 5 whole years) it's got all her essence and wit and quirks and eccentricity that might not have become a possibility if she'd had to stick with a schedule, so I'm grateful for the opportunity and what it has bestowed upon us.

True Tragicomedy

The first volume is hilarious but tinged with an underlying mysterious darkness.

The second volume is equal parts funny and sad. I really needed that epilogue tbh; it helped bandage my gaping wounds.

All the characters were fleshed out and I loved them all to bits. Aniya Yuiji never disappoints!

I love Aniya Yuiji. Her stories are always interesting and entertaining. This was no difference! The characters are great, the mysteries nicely pulled off and the fourth wall broken splendidly. My only complaint would be the smut. Aniya does some of my favorite sex scenes but that's lacking in this.
