Captivated with a single glance...

And I don't mean that in a good way. For some reason everyone is on this girl. I guess it's typical shoujo stuff, but not even a sliver of realism is found. No one is letting up either when her first love pops up. For two guys to go out of their way (who kind of share her in a weird way)-- totally team up and charge at this man is bizarre, and very awkward to read.

I read up to volume 9, then skipped towards the most recent chapter in volume 18 and realized I missed very, very little.

I used to love this manga

I remember being in high school sophomore year and printing out the colored pages (I think those scans were from when it was still being scanlated by Nagareboshi) to put them in my wallet, something I try to forget. I also remember reading the first volume and thinking the author was a genius. I absolutely loved this manga back then. I loved the art because it looked cute (especially the art in the beginning and in the covers, goodness gracious the covers!) and it was sparkly and I loved sparkly then. The idea of the story, too, seemed ingenious to me. I think my sentiments were near to 'WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?' and 'THIS IS THE BEST MANGA EVER!!!!' It was fun to read and it hung at good parts. I had taken an extreme liking to the characters as well because they were amusing. Especially Yukina and Shigure. Shigure was a bit close to the typical shoujo male love interest but I really liked Yukina because she wasn't a pushover, she wasn't vanilla (I mean the irritating vanilla type) and she didn't mind (much) what other people said about her. I absolutely thought they and their interactions were very amusing. At that time, I would have definitely given this a 9 or a 10.

When Akira was finally fleshed out, however, I felt that things started to go downhill. And it just reached a point that to me it had taken a dive and I couldn't bring myself to read it anymore. The art changed, the story became irritating (even Yukina and Shigure's relationship which I used to really like, well actually it's the only thing I find just tolerable now..but also, not really), irritating characters started showing up (yes Mami, I'm talking to you. Is that name right?) and I got tired of it.

I also remember being extremely depressed and angry that my beloved manga had turned out the way it did. Maybe my tastes just changed? I don't know. It's possible. It was the time when a lot of the things I liked changed, including genres of mangas and novels. But something definitely became... MEH. Maybe that's just me? I don't think so, though. The friend to whom I recommended this also felt the same way. So, the rating of 3 is for whatever remains of the manga I used to love. I used to squeal and roll on the floor (partly literally) every time Yukina and Shigure had lovey-dovey time.

Really Good

I really enjoyed reading this manga. The way that things progressed and the plot line in its self were very different to what i normally read in my mangas so i found it interesting and not in the least cliche. Although there are a few parts when i feel as though things should have gone differently because of Yukina's personality but i feel as though i can overlook it.
However in saying this in recent chapters i feel as though Yukina has lost a bit of the personality i fell in love with over the chapters and the way that she handled being blackmailed herself over just telling Shigure was a bit too out of character for my liking.
If the manga continues to progress like this then i may get slightly bored but for the time being this manga is totally worth the read and completely enjoyable.

I feel weird

I always avoided shojo because I hate the genre (maybe because Im male? Lol, I dont know, I see it as the typical genre for girls in an ormonal storm), but when I casually saw it in a scanlations website catalog, I felt I would have tried this title.
It instantly caught me, and i finished it (i mean i read it to the last chapter i found, 63) in few hours, while I usually read mangas for a lot bigger period of time.

The narration goes well, starts "calm", and then continues to accellerate (not sure iff its the best way to describe what I mean, let me see some english dictionaries biggrin, anyway Im not referred to the story, which is really slow), I felt lot of tension at some point.
The behavior of the character is weird, because they change too fast: first of all Yukina, I initially liked the way she was (and i was surprised how she had some few similarities to me, cold, not friendly, submerged in her own world, strong character), but she rapidly become weak, always crying (oh c'mon I dont want to see you cry evey 20 pages!), and always unsure.

I like the drawings (maybe too "sweet" for my tastes in some parts, but its a shojo so I dont have to complain about it).

I saw the other comments and rates, maybe it would seem too much, but I rate 9 because I enjoyed it and thats what counts.

Really, Really Bad

This is probably one of the worst "romance" mangas I have ever read. Everyone does the most idiotic things on a consistent basis. The main character flip flops between love interests at least twice a in single chapter (sometimes more) and her reasoning is beyond shallow. She is presented as being very intelligent, but a 4 year old has better decision making skills.

This would have been much better as a 6-8 chapter single volume where the main guy helps her get over her phobia and teach her what love is - that was the initial premise anyway. Once another love interest is introduced (a childhood friend - how novel) it quickly goes down the toilet.

If you love pointless drama and idiotic characters who make the worst possible decisions and then change their mind 4 pages later you'll love this. Oh, and the art is good. There, I said something positive about it.

I can't even be bothered to write a full review about this crap. It's all just sparkles and cherry blossoms while bunch of ecchi / corny stuff is going on. Oh and yukina is a joke. She's no strong heroine. Heck, she's not even a relatable heroine. Just a shameless ******* who fails to use her supposedly logical brain to THINK. And honestly, does the cousin not see how stupid he acts half the time?
Wait and how exactly did loose crap like this get a CHILDREN'S AWARD confused wth?

I love this series. It is by far the best I've ever read. I love the triangle and how she is learning how to love. Though it begins with her cell phone novel, her love gradually turns into real life as the chapters update. I don't know what you people are talking about saying it's the "worst" and all. I love it. All of this author's works are great. I find the love triangle really interesting to read about. I can't wait for this series to update!

sexual minority discrimination in chapter 51

Chapter 51 has blatant misinformation about the asexual minority and is insensitive to sexual minorities. What is the author/editor/publisher thinking?!?!?! There will be problems when that volume goes on sale in the US and probably Europe and Canada.

Terrible.

I've always hated love-triangles in manga, as they are by far the most overused trope, but I liked the art so thought I'd give it a go. Surprisingly I actually did like this at first. But now it's just... well, just awful really.

Here's why; At over 50 chapters in, there has been ZERO progress. Seriously. The mangaka clearly found a brilliant way to make some money, by just dragging out this ridiculous plot for so long. Instead of the original love-triangle, it's pretty much a love-pentagon now. It's pathetic.

Shigure has always been my favourite character, and now he's pretty much out the picture. Akira is sweet and all, and I have nothing against incest in manga (I actually quite like it in BL), but I don't think he should be with Yukina, as her love for him really doesn't seem to be more than familial love. Shigure's brother (can't remember his name) is another character I quite like -- I like the ones with twisted personalities. I did hope he'd finally get with Mami, but it's looking doubtful. Especially now that he seems to be developing feelings for Yukina too. Then there's Yukina herself. She is the worst kind of heroine ever. She isn't a strong female lead, she's just a bitch. I don't see why the mangaka thought reading about a slutty girl who just leads multiple guys along, is what people want.

I still think the first few chapters are good, but now it's just plain awful. The only reason I still read this is because I'm hoping Yukina will realise her mistake in choosing Akira over Shigure. To be honest, I have to say the only good thing about this manga is the art.

Pretty interesting but quite slow
by darkrosen
July 11th, 2013, 4:28am
Rating: 8.5  / 10.0
The story is interesting in the beginning, then it begins to lack of interest in the middle.

Plot
The theme is the school and the girl who doesn't know about love. Futhermore, she is the romance novel writer too! So she tries to explore love by blackmailing the hero. The story goes pretty smooth and quite very slow (the reason for exploring is her novel.)

Story:
The story is slow as the author's other stories but this one is slower. For me, I saw it as the acceptable slow because of both the heroine and the hero's personality and background. However, some actions of characters are still questionable (especially the heroine's cousin's)

Artwork:
The artwork is as beautiful as always. And the scene is full of emotion too. Author has the great sense of using the right angle when drawing to show the emotion of the scene.
