Sweet but rushed...

anyone else find the way that the (spoiler) way that they (main couple) suddenly wanted to have sex with each other kind of weird? i dont sense any attraction between them only annoyance, and all of the sudden they're in bed together. they barely spent any time together. All kiri did throughout the manga is clean, babysit, or have sex. also, Kiri's master, although handsome seemed kind of plain and boring, very expressionless (this is explained in the story though and its understandable). also, that butler was so annoying he kept following kiri and giving him annoying work, i couldnt stand him. it was weird they have this powerful animal in their hands and they're making him clean floors and baby sit confused but i admit the art was really good and overall the story was actually pretty cute, albeit a bit rushed.

I enjoyed this much more than I enjoyed Wild Fangs, as I liked the characters a lot more. Both protagonists are a wonderful mixture of strength and vulnerability; Kiri was brave enough to venture out of his village and badass enough to fight people and defend himself along with his loved ones, and yet needs Mikhail for emotional support and happiness. Mikhail has a sad past and can't seem to sustain an emotional relationship with anyone, including his own kid, and yet manages to overcome his own issues to reach out to Kiri. The art, too, feels nicer; every time I saw Kiri's hair flapping about in the panel I kinda felt like I wanted to reach out to pet it, hee.

There's strange charm into this story, it's hard to explain it. I'm glad I found it! Anyway it has a strong plot, deep background, charming & very pretty art and an extremely good type of the storytelling. I really like it. I mean the whole series.

The mangaka put a lot of effort to write this, the story alone is well-thought-out and it's not lacking anything from the start to the end. Drawings are beautiful and polished. The characters in every story have different personality and social status, they met in different circumstances and such and there's plenty of them. It's not an easy type of the story who includes only two gay lovers. There's about 15 main characters in the whole series (3 volumes). Also there's hot sex. If I had to complain about something - some of the characters are a bit cold hearted, as for ex. Mikhail but really, it's not a big deal.

What's more? It's kind of a fairytale but not overly sweet or naive. There's tension, there's mystery, very unique storyline. It's definitely a memorable series. I recommend it, you should start from Wild Rose, then read Wild Fangs and Wild Wind, but you may read Wild Wind first and then WR and WF.
Enjoy!

for scanlating this, because without you i wouldn't have known of this mangaka at all.

so this turned out to be a prequel rather than a sequel, but that's ok, because i had a lot of questions about kiri, and here we find out what happened to him after leaving the village. it is more cohesive than wild fangs because we already know some of the background for the manbeasts, it doesn't pack as much into a single volume, and it spends more time on developing the relationship between mikhail and kiri. but ironically the result is still the same -- i want much more.

i didn't find it particularly weird that mikhail and kiri "suddenly" wanted to have sex; i thought the "annoyance" between them was strong sexual tension right from the start, and the sex didn't really happen suddenly -- even though it happens soon in the volume, in story chronology some time (weeks?) had passed. i think this manga, like its predecessor, leaves a lot of things unspoken, but as far as i can tell i get them anyway from the art. that might not work equally well for everyone. or it might just be that my imagination works overtime, *wry grin*.

OH my that was totally bad for my heart!!!!!!!! i even cried embarrassed!!!! Mikhail was so hottttttttttttt that it makes me think about The London Suede's vocalist Bret Anderson <3 He wasnt the typical unexpressive cold guy... i mean, i dont know if its me (i tend to idolize to some scary extent what i like) or Yamagishi sensei draws so perfectly human expressions that you can feel that look on Mikhail's eyes: It's totally "I wanna make out", that arousal and not fear can be transmitted through!!!!!!!!... OH and the most sexiest detail for me was those birth marks were visible when they were making out or he touched Kiri: it's like the character didnt have many expressions but the look in his eyes and those marks telling kiri that he was special <3. I totally loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting Better...

Well, 'improvement' isn't really the right word; "Wild Fangs" wasn't bad, but it felt crunched. "Wild Rose" develops much more smoothly, telling the background story of how Kiri and Mikhail met. But it still feels like another prologue! Same as with the original story, the characters and world of "Wild Rose" are great but I want to read more! One volume simply isn't enough. I'm really hoping that "Wild Wind" will pick up where Fangs and Rose left off, and that we'll get a real series going. Recommended.

Wild Fangs and Wild Rose are both among my favorites! I really hope this author writes more. Beautiful artwork and stories. I can't wait for this series to be either completely scanlated or licensed in English so I can buy it! (PS: Nakama is awesome!)

I loved Wild Fangs, to the point of wanting to write a fanfic about it just to continue Kirii's story. Now, I found the mangaka has done the work for me. xD I'm so excited right now, I can't wait to read it!

since the events in Wild Rose happen before the events in Wild Fangs. In Wild Rose we see what happens when Kiri first leaves home and meets his master. In Wild Fangs, Mao leaves home to find Kiri after their grandmother dies. This is a fascinating world the mangaka has created.
