At first i was hesitating to read it because i still have a trauma on Komatta toki ni wa hoshi ni kike! Series (well i'm exaggerating with the "trauma"). I said trauma because i really feel frustrated at the ending of komatta but i love that manga. Well i still decided to read it hoping for much better progress and hooray! They progressed.... Very fast!! Honestly i didn't see that coming, just like the komatta series they are not that showy to express their love by word, atleast they have sex lol. Idk but i kept on comparing this manga to the komatta series because the characters are pretty much the same in my perspective, not only the physical appearance but also their personality and the story itself but the difference is i didn't have the same feelings of excitement and heartbeating fluffiness that i felt on the komatta series. Well the art is i really like about, the story is also good but it is so fast and it lacks something that i don't know what. I also didn't feel the end i was stunned that i'm already reading the ending without a little hint of knowledge lol, i was like "is that is? The heck!". I really like the author abe miyuki because her/his stories holds deep meaning in every relationships and the story itself is full of knowledge and you can learn from everything on it.

A BL in a BL world

Defo not realistic. At all. Sure, the story was nice and the characters are kinda likable, though honestly they won't last in my mind for sure, since they're too common and flat. But 'twas still a good story, though again very unrealistic.

The art

I hate when the cover's and the manga's art are different. If the manga is old and the mangakas art was not as good as today's, then don't do a cover as pretty as this, because when you start reading the manga and you see the art... O.O

You tricked me

The 4th Volume cover tricked me with the art. The manga was actually quite old and Abe-sensei had just started drawing manga so her art wasn't what it is nowadays. And I thought there would be an art change because of that cover, but there wasn't. bigrazz Really wanted to see more of that art!
She had problems with drawing talking faces but in the end of the story it wasn't as bad as in the beginning. And I could detect her usual art style on some panels.
The story itself wasn't that great but I still wanted to finish it. The ending was a bit sudden tho. And the extra for the second couple wasn't thought out that well either.

wrong date for publication

The copyright dates for the first volume are 1993/1994 and the drawing styles reflect that. Also, the author writes in the 1st volume that she's only been successfully producing manga for a year. Someone should fix the entry on this to reflect the true copyright date.

Enjoyable Longer Read

I'm not sure of the date on this title, but I adored it! The imagery and the story both put me in mind of the 90s; I really like that long, angular, sharp-edged feel of the art and the dramatic delivery of lines.

The story captivated me all the way from volume one to volume four! There were angsty scenes, self-revelation scenes, growth scenes, quiet scenes and just simply fun scenes--it was really a great balance.

Terrible.

I think this has got to be the only manga I've ever read where I didn't like a single character in the whole story. As a matter of fact, it's got to be the only manga where I've come to dislike all of the characters. Quite a disappointment because I thought that "Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kiki" was actually a decent to below average story. The development was terrible, the art isn't redeeming, and the sex scenes are all awkward and unromantic. Things were too rushed and Kaoru's reason for coming to love Haruka just doesn't cut it for me. It seems like the author just threw it in there because she couldn't think of anything better. But I don't blame her because Haruka is such a dull and unlovable character. He's irrational and a drama queen. The fact that he falls in love with someone just by looking at them makes him a shallow person. He's incredibly annoying and the reasons behind his actions make no sense. Kaoru is inconsiderate, an ingrate, an asshole, and the reasons behind his actions are dumb and he is too. I found Kaoru to be really shallow and honestly what the two main characters had didn't feel the least bit like love. Boring story overall, do not recommend.

I read this in hopes for more of the slowly developing relationships like in "Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kiki", and was met with disappointment. The beginning of this story felt really rough, and the character feelings seemed to move too quickly. This manga is also like crack.... hard to put down, even when you want to. Fortunately, by Vol 2, it smoothed itself out and became enjoyable, but nothing special. (The main character's personality did NOT redeem itself to me, though. Most of the drama was created by Haruka's overreacting.)

Basically, if you're a fan of Abe Miyuki, you won't be disappointed, and if you're looking for a cute shounen-ai that focuses on things other than just the two main characters, then this might be for you. If you're looking for something ground-breaking or interesting, then look somewhere else.

I only read up until chapter and I really enjoy this series. I read Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike! first and the characters were very similar. This series have more shonen-ai on it and they even have sex so kinda yaoi but it was not shown in the manga. It's funny at some scenes and serious at times. The combination of both make this manga stand out. The development of the main characters was at the pace i liked in contrast to Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike!,it's really slow. The art was great considering it was really old and highly recommend this!!
