And that was the 2nd story. A twisted thing that didnt fit so well with the other cute one-shots. Yeah yeah it did end well kinda, but still i would have rated this collection higher without that.
Aside that flaw, these stories were good and i would rated most with a 9~ such nice couples. As always i wish these wouldnt be only one-shots, coz of the cuteness and lovable characters.

This was a bunch of different stories, all cute and sweet, with some angst and some ecchi mixed in. I found myself getting into each one of them. While they were short, they didn't end unfinished, so it worked.

i should just stay away from oneshot volumes, because i inevitably find them lacking. these days it takes a special kind of oneshot to make an impression -- and unfortunately none of these are it. they're predictable, and simply not deeply enough developed for me to care. even the art feels underdeveloped, and there was not enough time to get into the sex to find it erotic.
though, if you like oneshots with a bit of angst and a happy ending, you might like these. i'm just rating the volume average because it gave me no particular pleasure to read the stories, but they don't exactly suck either.

It's not bad, but...

In case anyone's wondering, this book's a collection of oneshots. But I'm not sure that the format works here...
I'm ordinarily a fan of Yukimura's work, but this one let me down. I appreciate the variety of characters, but the more interesting ones feel painfully undeveloped because of the oneshot format. The stories are constructed decently enough, and as always the art and dialogue writing is good. Some of the stories are more upbeat than others, so it's a decent mix of ideas for a collection - although they feel a tad disjointed. Sometimes there's an odd, sudden shift in mood from one chapter to the next, because there's no clear theme to unify any of the stories in this book together. Well.. There is a theme, but it's a theme that's more disappointing than anything: they're all predictable, once you figure it out. To elaborate...
But that being said, Yukimura doesn't write bad books. So despite these shortcomings I had with it, I'd recommend it as a casual read if you're looking for something new from this mangaka. But I feel that books like the fun "Rush!" and the pleasant, touching "A Love Song for the Miserable" are far more worthy of your time.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Almost all of them have the same setup of "unrequited" love, that's not unrequited at all. "The great misunderstanding" is resolved, and they have what feels like a rushed, awkwardly placed love scene to prove their love for each other. There are very few chapters that stray even slightly from this path, so I found it tedious to go through each story to get the same reveal over and over. It's very disappointing to me, especially because some of these stories have unique beginnings, and interesting settings. It feels like a wasted opportunity to conclude each episode the same way.
