Fluffy in all the good ways. Silly in all the bad ways.
The only character I ended up liking was the seme.
Everyone else, including the uke, was selfish and annoying and it was hard to understand them.
At least I would've been satisfied if I knew why the uke fell for the seme in the first place so I could blissfully ignore the silly for the romance, but like everything in this story they just brushed over it superficially.
I don't expect too much when it comes to yaoi, but sometimes I do find myself becoming disappointed when I think some things could have been better.

I was totally in love with the first volume <3 Their relationship was really cute, there were no dramatic stupid actions. Chun trying to make Taka notice him was very realistic and funny. Confused Taka was also believable and all this struggle between "he's a guy, it can't be love, so what is it?" made me smile a lot. It looked a bit like real life when someone is hitting on you and thinks it's so obvious but you're not sure and get mixed feelings.
And then there came the second volume and I really started to hate this manga. With such a nice and quite new ideas in the first volume, then mangaka trashed all the good vibe with a stupid childhood friend who acted like a total idiot. Seriously, I couldn't stand anything revolving that Reichi character.
This whole thing was so irritating that I couldn't enjoy the second volume at all.
8/10 for the first volume, 1/10 for the second one. Yeah, just 1, I'm totally serious, I hated it.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
He thought he raped his 14 years old (!), childhood friend and didn't feel a tiny bit of remorse about it, he kept being pushy to the point it got disgusting, he didn't care at all about Chun's feelings, he was fooling around all the time still saying he loves Chun, made a bet where he was obviously going to win (come on, he's not only a professional but the best pitcher, the fact that he lost was not only predictable but unrealistic) and acting like a grade-schooler when it didn't go as he planned. There's not a single good thing about him yet Chun's father seems to be ok with giving his son for him cause he's rich and he made a promise. What it is, feudal era? And Chun didn't even speak a word for himself about it, like a 18th country girl during matchmaking with a well-suited mister with rotten character.
This whole thing was so irritating that I couldn't enjoy the second volume at all.

After a few fails for a good story I was finally able to borrow this from the library. Although I could have care less about sports and statistics, it was a well developed romance. I don't care about how unrealistic it may be, I wish sensei would keep writing about these characters.
Worth buying for future re-reads, next the sequel!
