What the heck did I just read?

That sure was.. different indeed lol. There are a lot of wacky elements that might be a bit too much for a large chunk of the audience I'm sure. But once you get past the weirdness it's surprisingly fun and wholesome; it does a good job of teasing you into feeling curious about what will happen next. Oh and the artwork is as exquisite as has always been delivered by the mangaka.

Aside from the historical fantasy chapters.....the weird male pregnacy fantasy thing was stupid to me. If it only didnt have fantasy in it, it would have been better. Huf.
I loved the criminal x detective couple~ im weak for tsundere charas ^_^
The magical butler was interesting x3 but short!!
The non non couple was adorable, i want more of them!!~ <3
Anyway, after reading some manga from this mangaka (doukyuusei, sora to hara etc) i have to say, that tho the art seems weird at first, i grew to adore it and i think the art is warm, fluffy, lovable and unique.

The art style is very refreshing. The characters aren't that original, but the author's execution of said cliched characters is well-done, and still makes me love them nonetheless.

For instance, this manga has the tag "dishonest protagonist." And yes, Takachiho is definitely a tsundere. However, his dishonesty is not excessively emphasized. Although he hits Nanami once or twice (which Nanami deserves, tbh), he doesn't go into some ridiculous "rage mode" to hide his embarrassment. In fact, when Nanami isn't (sexually) tormenting him, his dishonesty quite subdued, and I personally found this subtlety much more adorable.

(Very slight spoilers for V2)
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
For instance, Takachiho buys fish, and uses it as an excuse (snacks to eat) to try and go visit Nanami.

I found this story a bit lacking plot-wise. I don't mind it so much in V2, where it's obvious that 99% of the focus is purely on comedy. However, in V1, there are moments when the author tries to be more serious. Hence, the poor plot disappointed me a bit.

(Major spoilers for V1)
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Nanami says that because he fell in love, he realized how wrong his actions were, and was therefore willing to hand himself in. However, when Takachiho fails to be honest and reciprocate Nanami's affection, Nanami betrays him and leaves him handcuffed (naked) on a hotel bed. I understand Nanami's feelings: he's disappointed that Takachiho doesn't trust him despite his conviction. However, if he was truly feeling sorry about what he did, shouldn't he have still gone to the police station? Was his repentance merely an act for Takachiho?

Meanwhile, Takachiho, despite having a strong sense of justice, quickly accepts and trusts Nanami after this act. Also, his complaint is not that Nanami ran away from his punishment, but instead that Nanami ran away from him and left him alone. So once Nanami reassures him and the two confess to each other again, everything is fine.

So while I initially planned to give this manga a 10, I took a point off and reduced it to a 9. Even with this flaw, I'd still recommend this manga. After all, I read it twice-- in one sitting.

she has really-really-reeeeaaally great ideas in her every mangas.
however... the art is not to my liking. the art really bothers me a lot. everytime i try to read and going deeper to the story, i always failed. just because the chara's face gave me an "errrghh~" sensation >>>.<<<

I am really glad to read this manga! The art, the style is pretty special, I can not compare it to anything else, and I got to like the characters within a few pages. I laughed a lot, and I do not think that anybody else could paint in this way the people suffering from strong wind XD
I am looking forward for other mangas of Nakamura Asumiko sensei!

Okay, I admit that this cracks me up. I was laughing a lot. Even though I couldn't really stand the art but the humour got the better me. I liked the plot, since I never read something like this before, what with the "criminal-detective duo" runaway. Really. I never read anything like that before and that's why, the plot is seemly new to me. I kinda liked it, although the plot itself wasn't deep and it's pretty light, not intense or anything.

The humour was great and it wasn't lame, which brought a smile to my face. That said, I didn't really like the art, although it is quite unique. But anyway, it's a good read. Really light and enjoyable!

Although I cannot stand Nakamura's art style I have to say that the dialogue really surprised me as it is really funny in places. The comedy is fast-paced and witty. Even if the characters are cliched I like the way that the mangaka pokes fun at the genre in the last chapter. Wish I enjoyed her art more!

Mmh, I liked the artwork - but I can imagine that many would think of it as weird. The plot is cliché, but you read on nonetheless. biggrin

The story is rather lighthearted, but that is okay, when the alternative would be same plot but where the criminal rapes the other person and forces him (or her, if in another genre) to become his. In this story it's more reasonable why they'd start to develop feelings for each other.

A fine and sweet read, but the plot isn't astounding.

It's always great to see another Nakamura work scanlated. She's certainly one of the most talented people working in the yaoi genre today, from her gorgeously gothish, fluid art style to her dark storytelling. This, however, isn't one of her better works. Although her art style lends it freshness, the story is just yaoi cliché chosen for the highest probability of kinky sex. If it was done in the conventional yaoi art style, it would fit in quite nicely with the rest of the sludge that is most of the genre - and I wouldn't touch it with a stick. That said, she has one powerfully refreshing art style, and thanks to it I rather enjoyed this piece.

i bet this is paradise for BL fangirls....i'm not one but i quite enjoyed that

art is very stylish but some ppl might not like it...it has a weird flowing dynamic to it...it's more reminiscent of non-non by this mangaka rather than her manga published at gothic lolita bible...

the story is fine and the misunderstandings, lies and comedy in general are quite enjoyable

i think this title CAN be enjoyed by ppl who are not really into shounen-ai but are not offended by the genre...everything are portrayed in an elegant artistic way so it might be of interest to ppl who don't like at all most of the shounen-ai (like me)
