Well, at the end it turns out the chosen one is not A.T. and makes a lot of fan guys here angry rating 1. But I will remember the last scene when the couple "paint our future". I read lots of manga, but I completely forgot about them after a while. Only KOR, with Madoka's "like, but close to love", Maison Ikkoku "where mommy and daddy first met" and this ending that really into my mind.

I don't read alot of stuff like this, but to me this manga was excellent. It hooked me and I read through it all in a day and a half. I'm surprised at its rating on this site. I like this series for two reasons:

1) All of the girls are valid choices for Manaka to end up with and each of them get focused on alot. Its usually in chunks at a time, but still they flesh out all of them.

2) I came to hate the main character. I think its written so that you sympathize with the girls more than the guy (which is something i've never done so this was interesting). After Manaka does his first runaway, you start to hate him because of the girls reaction. After that, its like him constantly building up a "relationship" and running away to someone else. That pissed me off so. But it was an enjoyable pissed off.

Good Shounen Romance

Never actually wrote a review for this one (although I did talk about the ending numerous times), even though I did finish reading it at least half a year ago. Personally, I really enjoyed this manga. Which is why I'm surprised by the rating. Maybe I never payed attention until now, but I don't remember it being disliked like that (59 ratings of 1). It seems to be one of the most talked about harems out there (among others are Love Hina and Ai Kora), which again is why I'm surprised by the rating. But that's not for me to judge. I just thought that it would have received at least an 8.

Anyways, in regards to some of the comments, yes, it's true that it's repetitive. But then again, I haven't read a harem that isn't repetitive in some way. So, if something like that will affect how much you enjoy a manga, then harems probably aren't for you.

I find the characters to be enjoyable, and of course, Manaka needs to grow some balls (of course it's too late now). However, his character is also what adds to the story. If he wasn't the way he was, then the story wouldn't have been as interesting. There would have been no complications throughout the story because he would have made his decision pretty much right from the get go.

As for his decision (which is what seems to be the most talked about topic of this manga), it's strange for me because I preferred that person for most of the manga, but at the same time, I felt horrible watching the other girl left behind. I was sure she was gonna get picked, so when she didn't I was shocked and then became depressed as they said their "final" goodbye (it was such an emotional scene, and tragic if you really pay attention to what is said). But it was a good ending. It may have made me feel depressed, but it was still well done and I'm not going to dock points because it didn't make me feel all giddy inside like I expected it to. Overall, an enjoyable read if shounen romance/harem is your thing. Would definitely recommend it.

you know... sometimes "reality is harsh"

a really good series... i loved the manga from start till the near end... just that when it came to the ending though... i was really expecting for myself to cry with tears of joy.. but i was suddenly just kinda got ticked off, heart broken, depressed and disappointed, pissed off so much that i punched the wall several times (well, just excuse me for bieng a fan of the other girl)

...well there's no helping it if that's how the author wants the story to go. I can praise the author for the really good work, good characters, storylines, plot, stuff... etc.. but not quite on the overall story due to the ending...
you can say that I'm just one of the readers who was kinda disappointed with her cause like me.. some of the readers might have said:

a) "the author could have made a few twists and turns on the story so there will be a realization of love between the two which was missing in the story and some "twist and turns" for the other characters too... or something.."

or and somewhat idiotic-like or wishful-like comment that is:

b) "maybe just, maybe there could have been somekind of super secret alternative ending made but was not serialized and kept hidden from the readers" or something... haha but i still prefer "a" though...

well what done is done and nothing can be changed in the story anymore.. and most of the characters ended in good ways though the others was never revealed... there are readers satisfied with it...
but still... the "LOVE and HAPPINESS" for that other girl was quite unexpected and not satisfying(for me) cause there was just "happiness" for her.

and as for myself and all the other fans of that girl.... it's just that sometimes

"reality is harsh, sometimes things will not always go the way we want it and we can only accept the truth and selfishly whine or complain for ourselves"

Manaka-san, kirai da yo!!! >=P

-excuse me for commenting like it's the end of the world ^^

The right ending.

I don't know how to do that spoiler thing, so if you haven't read the manga yet, don't read my comments. Take it for granted that the manga is awesome and come to your own conclusions.

That being said, I thought the ending was the best choice. I agree (along with tazman0208) that, given given the circumstance with Manaka and Toujo, that Nishino was the right choice for her perseverence. However, for me, even if Toujo gave Junpei some indication that she liked him, I still think Nishino is the best, for personal reasons, of course. But for me, the girl as discribed in Nishino's character is almost ideal. First, as already meantioned, she was loyal and dedicated to their relationship. Second, she was attentive to Junpei's needs and moods (even when he himself was not). Third, she wasn't afraid to talk about potential mixups (think v.9 after Junpei thought she was hugging the pasty guy). If it was Toujo, that would've been the end for them. Fourth, she had the right mix of aggressiveness/initiative and vulnerability (the 3-day "my own personal Junpei" trip). Fifth, she did things for Junpei's benefit without seeking recognition (first valentine's chocolate, breaking up with Junpei in the first place, which was a seriously mature move, can you see Satsuki doing that, despite whatever Junpei felt like?). Sixth, she was both cute (Toujo) and sexy (Satsuki). Seventh, she changed for junpei. Eighth, she had a more mature understanding of love, in that she tried to support Junpei without ever 1) trying to force him to follow her, or 2) trying to force herself to follow him. My final conclusion, Nishino was both the most realistic of the girls (v.18 where Nishino was insecure about her figure as compared to the other girls) and least realistic (if there is such a girl out there, let me know! I'd go for her in an instant!!!) I could refer to so many other moments which, litle by little, solidified my decision for Nishino (I love the confession on the pull-up bar in v.16).So Mizuki, you get 10/10 from me for the near-perfect ending (I agree and feel sorry for Satsuki).

This manga was great.

The ending wasn't my preferred ending, but you don't say 'it's not as good because it didn't end how I want it to.' Kawashita Mizuki gave us an amazing experience. Ichigo 100% is a rare gem among manga, and Kawashita Mizuki is a rare gem among mangaka. This series deserves every sort of praise I could give to one of its genre. It's something that I really, truly love, in the purest way you could love something like...this. Although that sounds weird.
Come on, guys.
Don't withhold Mizuki's rightful ten just because you thought it should end differently.

In regards to the choice

Spoiler (highlight to view)
People who don't understand Manaka's choice really should try to put more thought behind it. I mean to me that was the most appropriate thing to do and the message that the mangaka was probably trying to get through is that hard work and persiverence are far more important than compatability. So what if Manaka was a perfect match with Aya, since neither of them made a move then their compatability doesnt matter. Everybody who has read the manga knows that one move, one word from Aya and Manaka would have been hers since she was his first love. Nishino on the other hand tried hard and never gave up on her love. The character I keep feeling sorry for and find my mind wandering towards is poor Satsuki, a truly tragic heroine in a greek play. Would have been nice if she had really moved on when she told Manaka that they should remain as friends.
