Quite bizarre

I haven't gone back to pre-2010 BL in awhile and this manga sure delivers all those glorious tropes easily found in most old school BL stories. It's not really meant to be taken seriously, I suppose, and for good reasons. The plot is quite fabricated and fast-paced, the characters are over-the-top parodies of the themselves, and the dated angular artwork style - it's like I'm being taken on a walk down memory lane lol. For what it's worth, I do appreciate the humour here and there, but ultimately for a story so silly and unlikely, it can only be enjoyed until a certain point. I probably skipped most of chapter 5 - when it got all 'serious' towards those 'relationship development and conclusion'.

Lots of Sighing

Besides the obvious preference for there being 2 semes instead of an uke in denial, I think the story was good. The seme was weirdly kinky, in a way that I can't tell in the club he likes is closer to a brothel or a preening place for doms. The uke is of course stupidly in denial to the extent that it bothers me, but at least he got over it. Though I hate how submissive he gets when he first begins to see that being an uke isn't a bad thing. I would've preferred a less sexist gay couple, but I've come to accept it begrudgingly.
I hate when people mix up S/sadist and M/masochist with dominate and submissive. There was almost no S&M in their relationship, it was all BD&S (bondage, discipline and submission). The seme wasn't an S to the extent I saw, he was a dom. And the uke was a sub, not an M. Get them straight!

I liked this manga, even though I do not like this genre. I liked too the characters and the art...

I feel that Kouzuki gave more harm by becoming his mistress. Nagasaku buyed toys for Kouzuki O.O

I hate relationship master-slave or master-pet...

Shame it's not seme x seme, but...

Unfortunately, as everyone else has said, this isn't a story about two semes falling in love. I absolutely adore seke couples, or seeing a seme turned uke, so I thought this would fit the bill, but no. Kouzuki is very much an uke right from the start.

However, despite being slightly disappointed as it wasn't quite what I had expected, I still loved this. The art is beautiful and the comedy is light. No angst or drama here, though it's still entertaining.

Kouzuki is a cute airhead who never fails to make me giggle. For instance, when he accidentally stumbles upon Nagasaku's secret fetish, his first reaction is just hilarious.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I mean really, why would you try on someone else's collar that was clearly meant for BDSM play!? Yet Kouzuki just happily pops it on lol

I have to say though that despite the SM aspect to their relationship, the sex scenes are kept pretty tame, so even if BDSM isn't your kink then don't worry. Personally I would've preferred seeing them explore it more together, but nevermind.

Anyway, another reason why this shines more than any other BDSM manga I've read is that it actually portrays sadomasochism in a fairly realistic manner. Most so-called SM plots usually just show the seme being cruel and forceful towards the uke, sometimes even going so far as raping the uke or at least causing extreme distress. But of course real-life BDSM isn't like that, as the submissive partner does give their consent. So that's why I like this. All the pets that are shown at the club are clearly there willingly, and at no point does it seem like Kouzuki is unwilling either. And Nagasaku doesn't try to force himself on Kouzuki at all, he is always caring and respectful towards him.

One thing that did sort of irk me though, was how no one seemed to notice what a hypocrite Kouzuki's ex was.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Kazu dumps Kouzuki after seeing him at the SM club, firstly because he assumes Kouzuki is cheating on him, then even after the situation was explained he says he doesn't want to date a pervert. Yet he was also at the club at the time. So surely by that logic, he'd be calling himself a pervert as he clearly also enjoys SM. Also, there's quite a high chance that he was there with a pet or at least looking for a pet, so he would've (quite likely) been cheating on Kouzuki anyway.
So I was kinda surprised that Nagasaku didn't point it out, but hey. Kazu was clearly a jerk anyway, so I was just thankful he was out of the picture.

Anyhow, I'll rate this 9.5/10. Would've given it top marks if I hadn't been misled by the description.

Not really seme x seme but still good.

Got to agree with the other reviews saying the tag line is not fitting.
Reading the whole "two semes" thing, I was really looking forward to the struggle for control, drama, fighting, this would bring if there were two true semes and neither of them wanted to be a bottom.

In the end though, while the real seme Nagasaku here is a pretty cool character, Kouzuki doesn't come across as a seme AT ALL! The only scene where he *might* look like one is the first when he walks into the condo all standoffish. After that, he fast transforms into a cheerful, playful, big-eyed typical uke. Of course, the roles don't always have to be so defined and a seme doesn't HAVE to behave a certain way to be a seme, but this is manga, and it is what it is.
The seme x seme tag just brings your hopes up but then it's a let down seeing Kouzuki behave this way.
STILL I want to say this is a good manga. It's entertaining, Nagasaku is damn hot and the SM plot is fun to read.
This is also somehow really tame, especially for an SM yaoi manga, lol.

I agree summery is completely bogus and that it shouldn't have mentions two semes. But it's still a good read. I bet many of the other experience yaoi readers will be expecting something things manga won't deliver, but in the end its a great read. ^w^

Bad Tagline...

I'm not sure what the mangaka/publishers were thinking, trying to market this as "two semes" in one apartment. It's not that at all. What it IS is an extreme and kinky seme trying to turn a switch (I mean, he's been a seme before now, so technically he could be called one, even though he's definitely got the usual uke personality) into his S&M slave. So it's less of two semes and more of... er... a seme uke getting dragged into an S&M relationship by a domineering seme seme. Whew. I guess I can see why they wanted to simplify all that into a succinct tagline there, but really... They should've played up the S&M element more than the "two semes" element. This is all too clearly a case of advertising to the wrong crowd!

That said, I'm a kinky person who loves S&M manga, so while I was surprised and disappointed not to find what I was looking for here (I was also hoping for a story about two ACTUAL semes, like the reviews below mine), I was also delighted and surprised at what I DID find here.

Bottom Line: Don't read this if you want to read about two semes or about equal exchanges of power in a gay relationship. Read this if you like S&M a bit and aren't annoyed by ukes believing they're semes wink

i completely agree with holly i was expecting to manly guys trying to be in a relationship and to see the struggle of one of these strong men submitting to another man, or even two men mature enough to both be able to be uke and seme for the guy they love. but its blatantly obvious that one of them is totally an uke, its the same story thats already been done but the author is trying to trick us by trying to convince us that both guys are seme when they are not...

Kouzuki is such a uke it's not even funny. Sure he has a male lover but his whole demeanor and looks practically scream, "stereotypical" Don't read this if you're looking for truly reversible couples or originality. However, fans of S and M may like this.
