No Just No

I will admit, I liked this at first despite the whole rapee falling in love with the rapist but now after two years reading it, my tastes have changed.

I realized just how wrong it was and why people rated it low and hated it. Rape is a touchy subject for me but I can take it as long as it's NOT used for someone to fall in love. I know there's the whole "redeeming" factor but when it's someone who is bratty and acted out on jealousy because of his brother is childish.

This would've been better if Minase didn't turn to it but, sadly, she did which is a shame.

I don't usually write a comment on here, but I just have to write one for this manga. Why? Because I hated it. Half of the people here said they loved it, while the other half said they hated it. Well I'm one of the people that hated it..a lot. I guess it's all about personal tastes on this one. But I swear, out of all the yaoi mangas that I've read, I gotta say this is the one I hate the most. I even like the horrible "Baby Bitch" more than this one.

I mean, c'mon! How can you fall in love with a dude that raped you? Rape happens a lot in yaoi mangas and even though it doesn't look so bad in mangas, it actually IS bad. No, it's not just bad, it's fucking horrible and wrong in so many levels. Raping someone is unforgivable and for Ryuu to actually want to be the lover of the person who just raped him..wtf? wtf is that? Serisouly, what.the.fuck.is.wrong.with.him?!! In one page he says "how can I fall in love with a guy who assaulted me?" and in the next page he says "I'll be your lover" ...?! what the actual fuck? WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?

Okay. I'm done. But just so you know, this manga made me flipped shit. sakgjadskgjdsagjdsk

I've read better Minase's works...

This could have been better if it had been longer. One volume is not enough to say everything on a difficult situation like the one depicted in this story. Because of this, Unbalance na Netsu ends up being not fully believable. Especially in the way it deals with rape. In this manga the gravity of rape is understimated, as well as its consequences. It's not believable that a boy who has been raped by someone later falls in love with them. I mean, Stockholm syndrome does exist but it's not something you can successfully describe in one volume. So in the end, it was not worth it at least in my opinion. Go read another work by Minase-sensei, she has done better ones.

It's something to read... after all

Short: The art is nice, the plot has many holes and is too short. The characters are ok. Three main characters. Two quite superficial and one with a deeper background. It contains a rape scene - which was weak, seen much worse.

Give it a try. One volume isn't a time waste even when you don't like it afterwards.

Long (WARNING SPOILERS): Don't know what's the fuss about this manga. For a one volume story it's ok. And I kinda expected Ryo to end up with the brat - so maybe that's why I wasn't disappointed about how it ended (and I agree, it was something else for once and not the generic happy end)... actually I even liked the end. The meany brat got tamed... erm I mean, brought back to common sense... and will surely not annoy his brother or step-mother anymore. The other way round it'd need an additional volume to solve the family situation for a pleased ending.

I have disagree, I personally enjoyed this series so much that I read countless times after. I was personally happy when Ryuu ended up with his friend brother. Ok the rape wasn't all that great but at least he felt remorse, and did fall in love with Ryuu.

As always great art and story from Minase sensei smile

the person our uke picks was the worst possible choice ever! its not even about the rape(cuz if you are a citizen of yaoiland, thats the norm) but his choice is spoiled, annoying, mean, and the reason they "fall in love" is because of pity! while a perfectly great seme is left alone and in the dust! HE COULD HAVE ATLEAST GOTTEN A LOVER TOO!!!!

Didn't like it at all

Well, I really like Minase's works, but this one was rather dissapointing..the "fall in love with the rapist" .plot was far more unreal than others of the same kind (which I dislike too). I was seriously hoping for Ryuu to end up with the other brother, and not with the one that raped him just to humiliate him and destroy his brother.

Anyways, this is not a manga that I would recommend.

I enjoyed it. Yes, there's one instance of non-consensual sex (which isn't appetizing to some ppl), but I still enjoyed the story-- this isn't real life, after all, but fiction, and something about it appealed to me. The ending? Well, I for one liked who the main character ends up with.

Personal taste.

Reading down the comments, looks like most ppl either love or hate this series. It's one of my personal favorites for the complex relationship, and because the conclusion is so unexpected.
For those felt the outcome made no sense, it helps to read this from a Japanese cultural perspective - the idea that a person who unselfishly sacrifices personal desires in order to do what is Most Needed of him will ultimately be the most contented and happy, because others around them are also contented and happy.
Not to mention, this sort of compassion is one of the most respected and admired traits in a person (think of Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy, or Belldandy for that matter)

So, the fact of the matter is, it isn't her best work, but also it isn't as bad as everyone comments on. I am also not a fan of the rape story line but in all honesty I have read way worse ones that were far more disturbing. Her art style is still one I can admire and that kept me reading. But, despite mine or other comments it probably will just go down as another one to pass the time and nothing to write home about.
