Description
From Aerandria Scans:

Takamura Uru takes her mother’s remarriage as an opportunity to strike out on her own and begin a part time job. Filled with the thought of “If only I could make someone happy…”, she begins working at Café Bohneur, a shop famous for cakes; but the employees, Ichirou-kun and Shindou-san, turn out to be incredibly unsociable. These two, though frightening at first glance, begin to change something inside of her. This is the start of a romance about Uru’s search for happiness.

Bishies...

The only reason I gave this a 9 was because the ending felt rushed. But maybe that was because I read it in one breath. Otherwise, I think I might have to read this awesome series all over again.

For a shoujo-reader, this manga was satisfying both visually (the art was fab) and emotionally (for the doki-doki moments). There are so many good looking male (and female) characters that I feel like it was a harem at times. In fact, it probably was that. But the heroine is worth rooting for, and the love triangle(s) are not too dramatic but still quite thrilling. Also, for readers like me who love a large cast with multiple pairings (and I mean like ten) then this is definitely a manga to pick up.

Adorable and sweet, but not for some

I personally adore this manga, but if you're someone who likes things that well, actually have a plot, then this is definitely not for you. It's basically fluff. But really awesome, adorable fluff. I love the main character, and there are moments where you laugh, cry, and go 'awwww'. It's a really good manga. I totally suggest that you read it if you like shoujo. The girl isn't annoying and whiny, and she's strong, cute, and funny. And there are lots of bishies, lol. <3 Always a plus. Also, if you bear with it, the story gets a lot more in depth. I think that it's just a really adorable story, and I 100% recommend it. If you haven't read it yet, give it a try!

Edit: The only weird thing is...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Sakuraba is Shindou's father, yet he creepily sexually abused Uru, his son's love interest. I found that a little disturbing, but it was less awkward since Uru's so dense.

Another "Boring" comment.

I looooooved this manga at first...like reallllllly loved. I liked how all the characters were hilarious and the storyline seemed so perfect and how adorable all the romance went, as well as Uru's smiles. Anyways, there was a huge gap in the timeline of the releases because no groups were scanlating this project, so for about a few months i went and read other manga...when I came back to this one, my first reaction was, "How did I love this manga so much?" True, manga is really good and I was really entertained by it, but like someone mentioned before, it kind of got repetitive. Boring. I don't know if I should keep reading. There's nothing that motivates me to read, because I've gotten sick of Uru's smile. It's cute and all, but no one smiles that much. Sorry, I'm a realist. Everything just seems to unrealistic...that's not the reason I dislike it, because manga itself is created to be unrealistic sometimes. I just wish something would happen, instead of the same thing every chapter, you know what I mean? I'll probably get a lot of hate comments from this .-. Ah, well.

Wonderful and Charming

This manga is a lot more light-hearted than other popular ones like Skip Beat, and that's one of the reasons I love it so much. Uru is absolutely an adorable protagonist that you can't help but love. Shindou and Ichirou are the weirdos that are somehow irresistibly lovable too. The side stories are cute as well, those involving Jiro and Aizawa and Arimoto. The light comedy cheers you up, including the touching undertones about the most important things in life: relationships, love, friendship, and learning to value yourself and what you do. I think that's the most important thing I have to say about this manga. It's something that has a very simple plot, yet there are things in there that touches your heart and makes you smile.

I love this manga, and I could read it a million times if I had to! smile

I must say this is one of my favorites. I like the characters because they're so innocent and strange. Uru is really cute! Yes, it is pretty cliche and I agree with other comments that at first I didn't expect much because the summary sounded boring but I gave it a chance and really liked it! The only thing I don't like is that their necks are freaking HUGE (well at least more noticeably at certain times) and its kind of scary. They look like alien giraffes sometimes, especially Shindou... well at least to me. Still love the story smile

nothing really amazing. nothing really bad. it's an easily forgettable series from what i've read. i remember skipping a volume and just going, yep, i can figure out what i missed. there's tons of cliches in this manga. i guess i'm spoiled from reading skip beat and dengeki daisy...so i expect a bit more originally/twists out of my shoujo. it's good enough to pass time though.

characters: honestly, i feel like they are cookie cutter creations. i don't really care too much for them. maybe i'll feel differently after i read a few more volumes but as of reading volume four, i don't love or hate them.

story: seriously? this is every cliche rolled together.

all in all, i won't be buying this series. it's gonna be borrowed from the library whenever tokyopop feels like releasing it.

this is not going to be memorable, i mean the art was ok and the story is nice buts its probably going to be one of those mangas two years down the track after you finish it then stumble across while cleaning out your folders and be like : oh whats this? and then read it and then probably forget about it again.

enjoyable read tho

Any manga with a character like Ichirou is worth reading
by unusuallove

None of the characters were annoying, and while the scene almost never changes, the mangaka still manages to tell a convincing romance story with other elements. The main character is kind of dense and oblivious, but she's fun, and she doesn't blush or cry a lot, which I always hate in a female lead.

I have to say, though, the one thing I really love about this manga is Ichirou. If he weren't a part of it, I'd probably have rated it a 6 instead of an 9. He's just so funny, with his random comments, and how he always falls asleep. Definitely worth reading if only for that one character.

I don't especially like the other male lead (he's too generic and not very funny) but I don't mind him. He helps round out the cast, but I do wish he weren't the person Uru is most likely going to end up with. If she were to end up with Ichirou, my rating would have probably gone up to a 12 (lol). Not that there isn't still a chance she could end up with Ichirou. But it's unlikely.

As for other characters, they are all pretty funny. I especially like the relationship between Uru and her mother (who doesn't act like a mother at all). And her step-dad is pretty great too. And her best friend. And the store's manager. And-well, basically the whole cast. They're just a bunch of hilarious weirdos. Who can resist reading about a bunch of hilarious weirdos?

Anyway, interesting characters, decent plot for a shoujo manga (not really going anywhere, but most shoujo mangas develop more in relationships than in plot lines), decent artwork. And the best character in the world (Ichirou). In short, you won't regret reading this.

This a nice sweet manga, a good read that you will definitely enjoy. Though it's not my usual type of manga. I find myself more interested with the side characters. I really wanted to know more about Aizawa and Arimoto's reationship, but after vol. 7 not much more was told. However, the manga was still very enjoyable!
