This could of been a lot more. The last 3-4 chapters seemed bulled rushed, like the mangaka was utterly forced to end the manga and didn't have the time to explain anything. The story jumps around and leaves too much unsaid by the end. The story had potential, but was crushed by what I'm guessing is a publisher telling the mangaka to wrap it up.
Aside that, it had very detailed and clean art that was easy to follow and some characters just seemed to be there to fill space.

This is just a way for someone to try and make money off the Blue Dragon series and it falls far short; the artwork is great, but just from reading two chapters I could tell this series was just another cookie-cutter shounen series that rips off far better series and is just a hollow shell that can only distract someone instead of draw them in
Interesting ^^

I like this comic ^^. Aside from the good art I like the way the main char be idiot yet wise at the same time. =) It probably won't last long though and I hope there'll be lots of fight scene.
Not too bad

I'm yet to read the other 3 chapters but the first one was really entertaining XD I love all of Obata's works, he's right up there along side Masashi Kishimoto and Akira Toriyama. I salute to him. He definately doesn't pick bad works so I have faith in this manga. Likewise, I think the Death Note manga is the best manga ever created (sides Dragonball)... His drawings are always beautiful pieces of art and the stories are usually fit to go with them.
So-so

Average shonen manga the only thing worth mentioning is the art, of coures it's by Obata Takeshi. But everything else in this manga is to put it simply: average and below. +1 Point for the great art, but the rest is just "so-so", if you have anything else to read, read it instead this manga.
Had potential. Petered out during the second half

As the title says. The art was good, the setup wasn't bad and up until the end of chapter five it was pretty good. After that though it became little more than fight after fight. The last few chapters was one long tedious fight followed by a rush ending. In the end, it was a mindless romp of nudity and fighting.

There is to much fanservice in this manga but since it is a shounen manga that is to be expected but this is just to much. Also the story seems rush and filled with cliches. The only good point I could see in this manga is obviously it art especially the Dragon which ironically is the reason I read it in the first place.
So it is mostly because of the art I give this a 6.

.....but mostly negative. i like obata takeshi's artwork and i like his female characters in nearly all of his work. and as such, i'd LOVE to see him draw nude girls. and this series has just delivered that.
sadly, thats where the good part ends. storyline wise, its terrible. the plot is being rushed too fast, and its WAY too straightforward. and there isn't that much character development. speaking of characters, i can't find any of em' even decent, and their personality seems..... lacking. all in all, the story just doesn't have that "oomph" factor hikaru no go and death note had. i know its only 6 chapters so far, but hopefully, it'll improve.
if you want to see some good artwork with nearly nude women, go download this. but if you want a good story, go elsewhere unless this series improves it somehow. (i'd give it a 7 if takeshi would just show the nipples...)

I was already impressed by Takeshi Obata's previous works. He brought beautiful artwork to a manga about something not many would think would be interesting in Hikaru No go. His work after that, Death Note, is in my opinion the greatest manga series to ever grace Japan. Now what will he do after that? Make a series based off of an Xbox 360 game? How could that possibly be any good? (Especially since Japan could give two shits about 360) Well, not surprisingly, Obata delivers. Blue Dragon is his first action series. Let me tell you..From the first chapter, it seems like it will be spectacular. The main character seems very strange, not different from Death Note's L. The means he uses to attack is the same as the protagonist from the game. He uses his shadow which turns into a dragon. Gone are Akira Toriyama's lame cartoon visuals. Now we have a mature action series with badass fight scenes and a dark atmosphere. I can't wait to read more.

At the time of this review i've completely read this manga.
it was actually pretty good at the start. A simple premise of the guy wanting to save the world cause he loves women's breasts.
he strategizes every battle, indulges in his lewd-ness etc etc
then halfway through it just transforms into a battle after battle with no strategy, going off feels, like the usual shonen trope, nakama wins all, and the dialogue is just utter nonsense.
the ending is rushed and incredibly meaningless.
It's gonna be a hard pass on this one.
