Description
Chibana Manabu has a habit of closing his eyes and counting to three whenever he finds himself stressed out, whether it's about his drag-queen father or the feelings he's harboring for his childhood friend. Kaji Hiroto is carefree and enjoying his days with Chibana, hoping they'll last forever and maybe even turn into something even more eternal. But lack of communication and a fear of rejection can only lead downhill.

This manga makes my heart thump like crazy! If you love that cozy feeling of other people being stupidly much in love... then read this! I'm practically blushing more than the characters themselves... XD
I don't often rate manga high

Surprisingly, a story which has been hashtagged and explored so very often in yaoi/shonen-ai, was given a new light in some aspects.
Don't expect anything parallel universe amazing, instead, the story had a feeling of calm surrealism. The feelings portrayed, if one is sensitive enough to feel, are ones immersed in the worries, the sorrow and the overwhelming fear that comes with love and life overall in general. What is pressure? Stress? Sometimes a lot of simple daily activities are so very taxing.
There was nothing complex in this story. And for some, this lack of complexity has caused them to not see how much the story really has to offer (I don't see anything wrong with that mind you). Don't read it for the smuxiness (only chapter 5 has a little), read it for the awkwardness of teenage love and the unresolved issues people sometimes live with.
I found the story very relatable, and perhaps people who have lived with a long unrequited love, and cowardice, could also come to appreciate that a simple, with little drama or climax, story can be just as marvellous. Its overwhelmingly sweet as well. Like eating pudding and cake.
Though to those looking for clearly cut gender roles, e.g. an 'uke' and a 'seme', some rape/anal and rivalry with running through the waves, splashing water at our faces, then I suggest looking elsewhere. To some, if you look closer, you may find that one character does seem more 'uke-ish'
It was a good enjoyable read (for me) and I would recommend to those who are of similar mind.

Chiba - reason being he acts more like one, especially with the way how he shines, looks cute, licks fingers, moves hips, and is just adorably asking for it, also how he wasn't as aggressive (but that being said, who said men had to take any position? I would like to believe they are both seke)
than the other, but both are pretty feminine, and as a friend said, "Their both 'uke' right?" Well, I'm satisfied that they are without precise gendered roles, and that their love is wholesome without fulfilling some fujoshi rule that one must be really girly and take it up the ass. But anyway I'm rambling...It was a good enjoyable read (for me) and I would recommend to those who are of similar mind.

Okaaaaaaaay, I don't know what's up with the high ratings, but this is probably not suitable for me. I mean, yes, I love sweet and cute stories that's heart-warming as well but for some reason, this one is a little bit messy. I understand what's going on but I dunno...it probably lacks something. Maybe the excitement or the intensity of the climax. :/ The plot seems a little shallow too. Not much depth in it.
And I'm not very fond of the art 'cuz it looks a bit messy. But some part of the art looks like Ootsuki Miu's especially when Chibana looks down and blushes. (I'm a fan of Ootsuki Miu!) Anyway, this is probably enough to pass by time. :/

Flawed characters are fine, but when you put one main who is too pushy and demanding (but refuses to take the initiative) together with another main who is too passive, mix in time skips and it kind of becomes annoying; leaves you wondering where the heck it all went. Imagine the build up to an intense emotional scene that gets cut right before the climax. You never get there.
I didn't expect something with too much depth or anything epic, but the telling of the story was not as great as it could be and makes me mad. There was so much potential.

This was the manga that I really loved UNTIL I've read the dj. If you don't like Chiba's half-assed attitude (not being upfront with his feelings) then DO NOT read the sequel. The story:
What I hated on the sequel was how Kaji was the one who was upfront with Chiba's feelings AGAIN. And this time, Chiba got mad at Kaji at his OWN fault. If he didn'r want to be ranted like that, he could've just man up and be truthful about his feelings. Honestly, (after reading the sequel) Chiba's one of the most useless seme I've ever seen. And I could truly say that all this time, Kaji had the right to complain.

Chiba and Kaji both wanted to be more intimate with each other. They just couldn't get the timing. Also, they felt like they're going to be disappointed if they're going to ask each other about it. One night, on a bed beside each other, as Chiba's hand reached Kaji's hand, Kaji sat up and ranted that he felt as if he was the only one who wanted more. Chiba got agitated and dragged Kaji to the sink, asked Kaji to wash his (Chiba's) hands and kinda "raped" Kaji (using oil as a lubricant) while ordering Kaji to apologize for saying it.

In a perfect world we would find a work that gives us exactly what we want... but in this world most will have to settle for a rough approximation. And that's what this is: a bunch of rough approximations. There's a rough approximation of angst, a rough approximation of fluff. Put together, it's a rough approximation of a good manga. Definitely worthy of a read, just don't come in expecting satisfying angst.
To put it bluntly, the mangaka has some trouble with creating good buildup and resolving issues well.

There are always buts.... This one got at least two of them:
Some times - especially at the beginning the speech was quit confusing. I mean I sometimes had problem to get who is saying what.
Some parts and development felt just off...

Amazing art, great pacing and portrayal of emotions, not a huge epic story or anything but rather just a fleeting moment of two friends - this doesn't disappoint!
For me, there wasn't anything lacking at all.. of course it could have been longer but mangaka usually don't just get to decide 'I'm going to make a 5 volume series now!' or such, so they gotta work with what they're given!
Aniya Yuuji's unique art style is perfect at portraying emotion and I just love the way she does it, cute and awkward!
Loved the characters even though I was a bit confused when Chiba looked really femme in that shirt haha, but hey, if you remain confused by this, read the doujinshi instead of complaining about it being too 'open' or 'not specified who the seme is'................
This isn't an epic plot or a ton of depth or anything... it's a sweet little slice of life story centering around two friends and a certain moment in their friendship... if you go into this expecting a deeper story then you might be disappointed but all in all I loved this manga and I'd recommend it to anyone!

The characters are such a mess and yes, they are so awkward as someone has already pointed out. But the feelings they have for each other are so raw, and I think that's what draws people into this manga. The art isn't the best (covers can be deceiving, people, I know because I was deceived XD) but it isn't terrible either and suits the nature of this story perfectly. I actually kind of like the artwork because it gives us some pretty funny expressions of the characters (there was this one part where Hiroto was drawn as the figure from The Scream painting ).
I love that this manga does show the perspective of both characters (it switches in the middle, then back I think) which is super adorable.

since I rated a manga this high. The way it started out I thought it would take the same course as many other high-school-/friends-become-lovers-manga out there. But I was wrong. The simple yet suspenseful plotline and the elegance with which emotions were portrayed and intertwined was very good. Also the mimics were drawn really nicely by ANIYA Yuiji. I can definitely recommend this one.
