So far, so meh?

I agree with the previous comment. So far it's not among the strongest nor the best of Yoshihara's works.
It just lacks... something. Actually since after Chou Yo Hana Yo ( aka O Butterfly, o Flower) her latest works seem a bit dull. I wonder if she's tired, or just in the middle of a storytelling metamorphosis where she still has to find a balance between the more slapstick&smut elements and the more serious ones (her older works tend to swing/flip the mood quite often, lately instead I get the impression she's striving for a more even atmosphere and less slapstick... yet just those were her strong points :/ . Don't fix it if it ain't broken... ). Anyway, as things are now I miss her old style and spark in this title...
Hopefully she can recover in her next works. Otherwise I hope she can take a break and restore her wit - and possibly her health ? - to her earlier standards soon.

I don't get why people are focused on him hitting her...

The way that everyone is talking about it in their reviews made me think that it was a lot worse then it is. All they are complaining about is the slapstick comedy. Its not like the girl is actually hurt. There are a lot of manga with the same level of violence but with it being a male victim instead of a female and nobody says a thing. Its just a role reversal. She also falls down and gets hits by someone with a ladder and has blood coming down her head. Its just three stoodgers level comedy with a girl instead.

I was expecting more from Yoshihara Yuki (and was hoping for more smut) but so far, after looking though 6 chapters, I think this is far from spectacular.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
The romantic development between the manager and the actor moves too quickly. In chapter 6, he already tells her he likes her, and I do not see how any of the events in the previous chapters have led to this.

I also dislike violent, abusive males. Although I like how he has no problems hitting women for something they did wrong (seriously, some of these bitchy shoujo characters need some slapping around), I do not think his manager deserves this kind of treatment.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Also, how he just kicked her face in Chapter 1 was downright rude and cruel of him.

Setting that aside, I still like this piece well enough because it does have potential. Riku (the actor) just needs some serious counseling.

I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed and laughed at this quirky story. The author always creates unique and bizzare stories (in a good way), that are very interesting to read. Regardless if the theme is one I'll like, she always hooks me smile

(some people are taking domestic violence as a serious theme; there isn't any real violence. It's slapstick humor as someone else mentioned, I see this much more as a metaphor. This is a comedy, it exaggerates some things and makes light of others. I mean for me the whole pedophile manager thing makes me puke (and want to punch him), but she she creates a much more realistic comedic world because of this and doesn't deny how things are IRL.)

It started off fairly strong, I actually liked both leads. But I feel like the female lead is just idiotic sometimes. She created an unnecessary misunderstanding between herself and the male lead and it just irked me. Oh well, I guess every story needs some drama.

He hits her.
Wtf.
I really hate this manga already. Hitting some chick in the face who wasn't even being violent with him?
Sooo not cute.

Abusive "love" isn't ok

This was the worst manga I've ever read by Yoshihara. A dumb, weak, clumsy and meek female main character who gets abused by the one she supposedly loves isn't funny. She can't even stand up for herself; she only does it for the man she loves.

The romance in this storyline was just rushed. All through volume one, they dislike each other. Then, just a few pages into the next volume, they love each other. There's no thread to the development of feelings.

Sorry Yoshihara, but this is one of your worst mangas you've ever done. I like many of your works, but this was just bad and annoying. I'm surprised I actually managed to finish it...
