Description
In a world where rare metals drive the economy, "Minea", the people who seek out these metals at the risk of their own life, are highly respected. A strange boy called Ruka has wandered destructively into the failing town of Elza, declaring that his goal is to be a Minea! He ends up under the surveillance of a village girl, Shella, whose little brother is sick from a poison gas accident in the town's now-closed mine. But there may be more to this situation than meets the eye! Will Ruka be able to help his new friends, and maybe one day become a legendary Minea?

Metalica Metaluca was quite impressive for one chapter so far, and it does have potential to stand out in WSJ.
Like Vawx, I'm unsure how long it will last, and I have to agree that it is because WSJ titles like Akaboshi and Kagijin got cancelled so early in their run (the latter being more cliched than the former).
I also agree with Vawx that, like Beelzebub and Toriko, it is rather unique in terms of the theme it plays out.
In a way, it does remind me a bit of One Piece, but hopefully, as more chapter comes, it deviates itself from it.
Overall, I enjoy reading it and hope to read more during its time at WSJ.

for the first chapter this manga sure is interesting for something in WSJ...
this manga has some good prospect it seems...
but learning from the other mainstream action WSJ's mangas in the last one year, i am not really sure that this manga can really last long...
take kagijin and akaboshi, both of them were mainstream action mangas published in WSJ and they got canceled with chapters less than 25 (@_@)...
however, this manga has some good points...
1st : the main hero is a kid, so it can take some interest with little boy fans
2nd: it's plot is about adventure to find metals, the theme is simple, but metal is quite interesting actually, since every metal has its own special power
just like Toriko and Beelzebub, that're also an action mangas but they're still serialized because of their uniqueness (toriko with food and beelzebub with baby+gag
so i guess even though this manga is quite cliche, but this manga's + point give a good chance to become great manga in WSJ..
