overall i really enjoyed this i haven't got alot to complain about it, season one was interesting but the artwork was very rough if you can get through it and those random water colour ones? It does improve alot. I also did not like how whiny the last boss was god he talked way to much, but the one thing that really prevented me from ratting this any higher is that hard jab to the nuts at the end god damn that's a hard troll.....

Stick with it over beginning of season 2

It is quite nasty sometimes to read because of the art, but overall for season 1 it was a good- to mediocre read. Season 2 starts extremly lame, the new characters introduced (pierre and moli) are, in combination with the main characters extremly annoying. But then it really starts off, and the plot, character-depth and art are getting really interesting and enjoyable.

Though sometimes the artist likes to throw some stupid stuff in where the characters are just beeing annoying while buying clothes ....

8/10 because of annoying scenes sometimes and start of second season

Totally agree with noctemleya, season 2 is such a disappointment. It made me feel bored and it is not enjoyable at all. Season 1 was really good, made me enthusiastically anticipating new chapters, new development, new characters but especially uncovering secrets by secrets was fun, but season 2 - can't be bothered at all. I hope season 3 will make this series good once again.

I found the first season of this webtoon great and honestly felt that it was one of the best webtoons out there. The characters had great potential, the art was pretty, the story seemed to be growing into something much larger and of possibly epic proportions. Every chapter felt exciting and often action packed and badassery was oozing both from Edermask and the children characters. Even the villains were curious and well characterized.
Then season two attacked. Nothing was the same again.
It came after a time skip and at first it brought the excitement of seeing what happened to your favourite characters after the ending climax of season one. Then little by little you start realizing that they have incredibly changed... for far worse. The characters you used to love have somehow become incredibly annoying, dumb and very one-dimensional. Some character's personalities
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
first among them, Iremi
have been basically skewered. The new side characters don't carry even half the depth the ones from the first season had. The story is dragging, maybe with the intention of showing the reader how "better" the new characters are, but failing to do so miserably. Even the art regressed and became way more simple. The dialogues feel forced and good fights are really lacking.
The second season has its ups and downs, but honestly compared to the first season it's embarrassing. The only reason I am not giving this webtoon a lower rating is because the first part was really brilliant, however the second made me drop this after a long and agonizing wait for the story to get back in shape. It was a let down and I am not sure I could recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone. If you like mediocrity, I guess this might be your cup of tea.

On par with Chang ge Xing

Chang Ge Ding is my favorite, as it is not just "book candy" and gives you what you want, but is a well controlled story. Other mangas/ manwhas are good but I feel fail to deliver this. But personally this is on par with Chang ge xing and I love them both. They are stories that are more than just to satisfy what a reader wants- usually a strong and reckless main lead who has hidden powers and grows into it (literally all extremely popular stories- they're great but these ones are different).

Basically just read it. I read all available 355 chapters in two days, I couldn't stop myself. Thank god the releases are constant.
(Also the art gets superb. I was a little weirded out by it's sketchy-ness at first, and then a smoother style change happens a bit later on. But you can see the artists skills improve tremendously. Each image is so good.)
(SPOILER ): Also, Iremi is the best. If anything, I dislike how the author focused more on edermask being the "unchallenged hero" when the whole party is full of possibilities. I don't want their growth to go unacknowledged all the time. I found that sort of frustrating - but that's just my own preference. They were acknowledged but absolutely out shined by edermask.

The whole story is awesome! It's full of adventure, comedy, fun and magic! I also like the characters. each one of them play a great role in the story. There are some parts that make you to get a stomachache because of laughter!
At first you might think it doesn't worth reading for what so ever but I guarantee that you'll come to like it if you continue reading it! and It gets more exciting in the second volume. (just saying!)
Don't miss it! ^_^

Iremi in season 2 is becoming an increasingly frustrating character to read, and it is really starting to weigh down the greatness of the artwork and story.

Those of you that can't stand overbearing female protagonists that constantly bombard the whipped wet noodle type male protagonists will understand (which is too bad, because Enzu has potential otherwise). If I do continue to read this web comic, I hope the author will bring Iremi down a peg or two in the near future, otherwise the series may as well be renamed "Iremi".

Aside from these complaints, I still recommend the series as it is quite well done. Season one features Edermask, and his badassery is too great to pass over.

well to begin its all about expectations
if you read something that is very highly rated you'll be always disappointed
you'll only like it if you're septic of such claims
well this webtoon is different from regular manhwa and manga
its more related to western european comics
its the only title i read asap and and don't have that "leave it for later" habit
the thing is the story/action/art triangle is well balanced
the story isn't the main focal point always there is always good action
sometimes nice twists and then gorgeous colored art
and another thing is you will like the characters for their personalities and not for the eye candy
the queen of this title is Iremi there is not ecchi or eye candy yet she is sometimes cool sometimes annoying sometimes beautiful sometimes cute and sometimes charming
you just don't get enought of her
maybe she is just overpowered but she also have weakness
like a real person she has many faces many aspects
you'll learn to respect her and you'll alway find something new

Some stuff seems quite absurd, repetitive and thin, but all in all the plot is gripping and easy to follow. I always wondered why he let them tag along in the first place though...

Pacing: The pacing seems off if you don't appreciate the characters and their interaction. In my opinion the characters are a stronger point than the plot itself and it's them that makes me read Magician. I'll be sad to see it end because of them. 7/10

Every characters has his/her distinctive personality. If we can't stand a certain character because of his/her particular traits it just underlines my opinion - characters are only really bad if you don't care about them at all. 9/10

After the first few chapters it really picks up. Especially the landscapes are very beautiful and artistic. It appears the artist has some problems with the characters sometimes, but usually they come out alright. 8/10

Overall, I recommend it to people who like fantasy with sword fights and sorcery.

Surprisingly good, slightly underrated series

Alright, this didn't seem great at first - the art was pretty crappy in the beginning, but it got loads better once the fights started happening. The characters themselves are interesting, their interactions are engaging, and you really get to know edermask as well as the other characters much much better as the story progresses.

The best parts of this manga:
Comedy is put in very well and has nice flow
The fights - just epic and awesome in every way
The characters are lovable and unique
The continued suspense
The art - by itself it would be great but all the pages of this manga are colored. Yes, ALL.
new releases every 1-2 days! One man army is amazing.
Character development - very significant in this manga
Not geared just for guys
The author set up a LOT to look forward to in season 2 with the time skip and emphasized hidden potential of the two main characters

Bad parts:
Bit of a slow start
Though powerful, the antagonists are a bit unrealistic/disconnected and we have yet to really know about what in the world really caused between the main protagonist and antagonist to hate each other so much though we had significant glimpses of the conflict (even after 180 chapters)
Small parts of the plot seem rather pointless
Slight intellectual inconsistency of the "genius level" main characters - but I guess it would not be a good story if they could predict everything and avoid fights

The minor flaws is what keep me from giving this manga a 10 (which I would almost give manga like beelzebub, meteor methuselah, and such) but I would put this up there on par with the likes of noblesse and ubel blatt, and slightly above id
