I don't consider this to be sick like some, but I do understand it's probably due its genre. People come across shoujos always expecting happy-ish stories. Still, this doesn't make the manga any better. It has a different aspect, but it's not enough. Beniko is just plain boring. She's weak and can only hold onto her memories and try to understand Umi's hate towards her when she could just ignore it so she wouldn't "suffer" by remembering her loved one, since it seemed to be so painful to her seeing Umi acting like Sora. Umi on the other hand, started out as a nice character.
The art is nothing outstanding, normal for shoujos.

By any means I refer to "nice" as personality wise, but about the character itself. He wanted Beniko to suffer, it was entertaining seeing how he was dealing with his own pain by making her pay for it. However at some point it got a bit predictable. Umi had this look in his face that showed how deep down he didn't want to hurt the girl. If it turns out that he really liked her ever since they were kids, he'll keep torturing her, but at some point they'll turn into lovers. If it's like this, the ending will be definitely terrible for me.

I enjoy these types of stories.
It probably has something to do with the artwork, which I believe is pretty decent. If the story were drawn another way, I would have not continued reading...or maybe I would, just because.
I hope someday we'll see the rest of the chapters.

I think the story has a very strong love-hate component and if that isn’t your cup of tea or your bowl of rice then you should skip this. On the other hand, Umi is a twin that you probably will never forget and his drive for revenge against his brother’s girlfriend, Beniko is anything but typical for a shoujo romance which is why I would recommend it. While Beniko’s loss and desperation for her dead boyfriend, Sora, just makes you hate Umi for what he does to her.

I have goten to nr. 8. I wont continue reading. I feel the main character is to plain and week... and the twin brother is just to sick and perverse for me. I have no problem with antiheroes and stuff like that. But this guy is inhumanly sick.
Masochistic love.

This manga is dark. Be warn. There will be some explicit scenes too-- it is smut afterall.
It's about obsessive love.
It's twisted with lots of drama.
I don't fancy the art that much. It's okay. Not too bad. Not that good either.
I think I have something for mangas about masochistic love or just plain painful love stories. Those, like this one, tend to be very emotional. Because of that, not everyone would like this manga.
If you are looking for light and fluffy, this won't be it for you.
It's labeled as shoujo, but it's also labeled as psychological, smut, and tragedy. so yea. keep that in mind.
It's about obsessive love.

between Beniko and Sora (mutual, but not that obsessive, on Sora's part. very strong bond). and between Beniko and Umi, one-sided on Umi's side... for now, i think. and obsessive brother complex between Umi and Sora, again on Umi's side.
It's twisted with lots of drama.

The plot is very intriguing and the mangaka has managed to pack a lot of drama, tragedies and twists into just eight chapters. The plot is really great but the characters are okay. I already love Umi with his dark and twisted mind, plotting his every move. Which I guess is something that really appeals to me. Beniko is alright compared to the typical bug-eyed, naive shoujo lead but I wish she would just get over and accept that Sora is dead. Then I compare her with other shoujo leads that have lost someone, who is definitely more important then a boyfriend, and seemed to cope with it better than her. So GET OVER IT! The art is very pretty and will certainly not burn your eyes.

this is so-so for me at the moment.
i liked that the couple is actually genuine, i don't know, it made me feel so fluffy inside to see that they actually had a history, it's not a brainless relationship.
Beniko needs to get over it and accept the fact that
the artwork is the only thing that's making me continue reading this.

in part 7, i thought Umi was kinda psycho-ish. putting her ring in his mouth, fingering her and then having sex. isn't he raping her this way then?
i felt sorry for the main character at this point Beniko needs to get over it and accept the fact that

Sora is dead
and if this is going to turn out like a typical shoujo, then Spoiler (mouse over to view)
she's probably going to listen to everything Umi says just for a dead guy.
i dunno, i'll just see how this goes.the artwork is the only thing that's making me continue reading this.

well..idk how to say,i really like the beginning because it was fast there wasnt the childish atmosphere and all but i used to like more pyscycological mangas now i think its not my thing but i have to say that its kinda refreshing because im tired of the same histories on shoujo mangas but well,i hate rapes and all but its so bizarre for her to do some things that she does just because they are alike..but i cant really judge the story because it wasnt a lot of chaps..but oh wel..let wait and i like the art its not all that but its cute
shamefully admit that I like it

I've always been a bit of a sucker for obsessively twisted male characters. They're hot. As long as it's not rape every other minute and it's because he loves her so much that he's so psychotic then I'm pretty much fine. It's better than those stereotypical bland guys who likes brainless heroines with no reason. Not that I'm saying this heroine is amazing or anything, but at least she has some type of backbone going on and she doesn't cry every other minute. Oh and the sexual tension. It's yummy. I'm actually impressed with the mangaka especially looking at her old works where the plots are just so....boring. At least the heroine starts off not liking the guy for once. Another thing about the mangaka is, thank god her drawing has finally improved.

I have no idea why Kurumatani Haruko is into messed up mangas all of a sudden
first it was Aishite Kudasai, Sensei. Now it's this.
I mean they're OKAY.... but I seriously hate the girl protagonist in both of her psychological mangas. They're so incredibly... not special. At all. They are just so incredibly plain, boring, and don't have any depth to them. I'm just reading this to kill time, really. Or until Umi shows his love for Beniko or something.
