I like stories that has middle eastern settings or feel to it, this one definitely seems more of a middle eastern setting rather than africa (since people from Africa are dark skinned and have distinct round eyes....this story doesn't even come close to any of that). Normally, I would've given this a 10....but what turned me off from this is the stereotypical uke who always seem helpless and is always protected by others, though the uke here is portrayed or tried to be portrayed as someone who is strong and all....I beg to differ since the uke's place in the story screams 'aww, so cute I wanna protect this innocent kawaii prince' ....ugh.

Great Art, Nice Story

I'm only a casual yaoi reader, not a huge fan... I'm not big on yaoi smut, but I love the bishies (why are they SO hot?) and the stories (when they're good). This manga brings both of those things to the table without throwing in TOO much sex, so I enjoyed it. The art is lovely and there ought to be some sort of award for Sexiest Over-the-Top Chest-Baring Panel given to this manga. I didn't know whether to laugh at the cliched audacity of it or drool at the uber hotness of it. Seriously. What was that? Overall, a fun read.

i've taken the "smut" label off this, because it has a fully fledged plot, the sex is a very small part of the whole, and isn't even particularly long and graphic, so the label was rather misleading.

the art is just lovely here; lush and detailed. the story is a total cliche, a throwback to the days of "laurence of arabia" when western romance novels were full of sheikhs kidnapping beauties, seducing them (with their amazing arab sexual powers!), and who would then fall in love with their captives and vice versa. it's quite silly, and i can't possibly take it seriously, not even with a prince who is an archeology geek (though that was probably the only original bit). but the art makes it very pretty to look at.

Work out the stereotypes for some good stuff?

In the end, I think this manga's just a way to burn time. The art is excellent, the story does have some good aspects but the protagonist's irritating. What's with making Middle Eastern (oh wait - are they 'African' here?) people kidnap (helpless) Europeans? Remember to look twice if you don't like Stockholm syndrome - I wanted to smack myself after this manga. The mangaka should have another go and work out the silly yaoi stereotypes, because it honestly has potential.

Okay, so this is, like, AWESOME. The art is lovely and delicate, as might be expected of any decent BL mangaka - but goodness, the detail? On the historical settings and on the costumes? GAAAAAAAAH. It's beautiful, and it's - wow. Just. Wow. Plus, I have a real fetish for sheikhs with their flowing robes and turbans, and when they're drawn so well, I sort of get seriously, um, happy in the pants. *cough* Yeah, you get the idea.

But that's not all! There's a plot, too! And politics! And mystery! And sex! And love! And strife! And the uke is an archeology nerd! (Of all things!)

Clearly nothing is lacking. (So far.) I only hope that this manga continues to be made of awesome!
