1 Volume (Complete)

I get this is supposed to be deep. Setting our sights into the complicated mind an “M” (masochist). Interesting. But I couldn’t enjoy it. First of all, he tries to rape her in the beginning. Full out attacks her. His excuse? “My body and my feelings, I just couldn’t stop.” Excuse ME? That’s your reasoning for sexual assault? My body and feelings want to turn you into mulch.
Although initially turned off by him, this little girl wants him still (idiot). But the situation shifts over to consensual, and I’m ready to get into the story once again. The flawless art, the stunning girl who’s willing and wanting, and (foolishly!) forgave him for his earlier assault. They’re gonna wham slam straight into next week, right? Wrong.
This boy gonna go home and cry on his bed alone. Won’t finish the act when he has a chance to. I didn’t get deep out of this, I got spineless. All I saw was a wimp and a loser. I can’t relate to an incel who’ll pass up the chance at a gorgeous girl just to whine about it later. That boy can stay his ass home.
In the story the mc just didn't understand his girl. He was just to innocent. Clearly the girl wanted to be ravish by him the whole time but was either to shy to tell him or there was another reason. Any S in the mc's shoes would have immediatly picked up on the signs she was giving off and would've acted accordingly.
So basically the plot is that the main character is going out with this girl, but she won't sleep with him. Partway through she comments on him being a masochist, an "M', and laughs ironically at the thought, since she herself is also a masochist. It's not that she's being sadistic towards him, it's more so that the lack of sex, the want for it, is more pleasureful than actually doing it, and that the two of them having sex would take all the passion out of their relationship. Fairly deep story in that sense, I can understand why people couldn't understand this strange sort of masochism.
Ok I just did not get it. I am not saying that you have to jump in to a bed as soon as you are in a relationship, but after 6 months... in my opinion girl simply did not love him. If you are over 20, it just unnatural to keep your hand off the person you love. I do get what Geisha said in her comment but just totally disagree with this concept. How this kind of self punishing behavior will let you draw any kind of pleasure? Well honestly this relationship simply misses the point of its existence.
i consider myself a Katsura fan, his art is just flawless.
as for the story in M, like most have mentioned, the story is clear cut... mostly bc you dont understand why Mutsuki [the girl] doesnt want to have sex, and why does she start teasing him after he obviously cant hold back anymore.
so the ending is pretty clear in that aspect [SPOILER-ish] they dont have sex, but they both realize they wont be able to hold back. at the end he says that loneliness is their biggest pleasure, so by leaving they both are able to in some way preserve that love/lust they had for each other... by not having sex their heart and body stays "burning" with passion... and from their loneliness they draw pleasure they cant reach sexually
i think this might be one of the deepest and sexiest of Katsura's work i've ever read...
i would recommend it to anyone who doesnt mind nudity, so that each can draw their own conclusions...

Wait,
He slept with her? with her underpants still on? I just couldn't really follow the art...
I don't think she enjoyed it, because that would mean she was S and then there'd be "no problem" (kinda) with the relationship existing, right?
My view differs from Missraw there. I don´t think anyone should take her words as fact.
I don´t think the girlfriend enjoyed torturing the dude all that much because she seems to be the same. The problem seems to be that they are the same, and I think at the end that they did sleep together.
What I don´t understand is ... the characters. The situation... I don´t really get it either. I do understand that some people can be blinded by lust and the moment they sleep with someone, they realize they have nothing in common.... but that shouldn´t be possible for people that have dated as long as these guys did.
I saw that based on my life experienced, and what I´ve witness. Usually this doesn´t happen after people have gotten to know each other. It´s odd.
M is Masochist, and in the story, what is going on is that the boyfriend is an 'm' but he wouldn't admit it (or probably doesn't realize it). The girlfriend enjoys torturing her boyfriend by not having sex with him.
In my opinion (probably a fact, but to be safe...) he probably didn't have sex with her because he finally accepted that they are both masochist.
The page says there are 4 chapters. I read 50 pages with seemingly no chapter breaks, but at the same time, I think that it's all there is to the story... I don't know what to make of it... it's just... unno... beyond me I guess. I'm not certain what a 'M' is, and I don't know what's really going on...
I can't accuratly rate it... it's pretty, but I got lost somewhere along the way
