A story about The Hundred Years' War between France and Great Britain, set in the 14th century.
8 Volumes (Complete)

This is an excellent historical manga based on the fictionalized life of John Hawkwood, a cunning mercenary that fought during the One Hundred Years War. There's no romanticism whatsoever here, characters must be ruthless and take every advantage in battle to prevail, and idealized knightly honour leads to a brutal failure.
Battles are fought with the use of clever tactics rather than super powers or silly deus exes, political scheming abounds and there's no shortage of gore and mercilesness towards anyone that stands in the way of victory.
The author takes quite a few liberties in regards to the titular Hawkwood, and there's jarring attempt at a change of visual style early on, but other than that this is a very strong manga that people who enjoyed titles such as Wolfsmund or Gunka no Baltzar will no doubt appreciate.
