It was so sad, but it's probably for the best

The moment I saw Julie, my heart broke. From then on, I knew they're never gonna br together. I know it's sad, but it was probably for the best. Otherwise, it'll look like they were licking each other's wounds. So in my opinion, they should just keep being each other's safe haven.

...tho I have to admit, why does Kanata keep blushing when he's with Ryouichi? When I read the first three chaps, Kanata was hella annoying and pushy with his girl. Idk, makes me be filled with hope that they may have a chance... DAMMIT SENSEI DON'T MAKE ME FEEL LIKE THIS!!!

Compared to the prequel, this was well written (or compared to the first three chapters, anyway). A piece of advice tho: do not, in any way, DO NOT attempt to read the prequel after reading this. It will break your heart and will probably hate the prequel lol

Like others have said, not at all sex focused unlike most crappy Yaoi out there.
Has a great, touching ending!
It was so heartwarming. I wish more Yaoi like this existed.

Great story but bittersweet

This one was recommended to me so I didn't even realize there was a prequel until after I read it. That said, the ending was very bittersweet to me. And I'm not really a fan of things ending bittersweetly.

All in all, this was a really great story. I really enjoyed the way it was told through flashback and how the main character changed. slowly but surely, by the end. I just - really - dislike unrequited love when there is no chance the author will let them either move on from it or let it become requited.

It's odd. I wouldn't change anything, but I really wish it could've had a more standard BL ending. 9/10 for being awesome, but leaving me feeling a bit depressed sad

Not "Real" Yaoi!

This one can totally split the masses.
It sounds fun, starts fun, like your usual yaoi comedy.
But then it turns into something very serious and sad, and depressing, especially that ending.
Before you read this (if you skipped the prequel) please realize that the prequel is a Shojo manga, not Yaoi! This manga's 2nd main character is the main character from that Shojo manga... in short:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
There is no real Yaoi ending in his manga! That main character, Kanata, is actually a married man and prime minister in the prequel, so do not go into this expecting a normal yaoi story.

I found that pretty disappointing. Not because I don't like stories other than yaoi, but because I read yaoi to get a happy ending usually, a happy yaoi ending.
That said, the manga is still worth reading as it is funny, has nice art, serious aspects and a nice little story line.

Love & Hate it

i ignored the prequel too, haha. Cuz my heart will break if I read that.
Mixed feeling, acctually. I both Love and Hate It at the same time that I hardly go to sleep when I think of It. "It should be like that" then "No way! It shouldn't be like that. It's suck" then "It should be.." then "..." again,
Well, In the end, I Hate It, but here is a 9 mark-very good.

this is one of those manga that after you finish reading it, it feels good (as in the ending is a good one) but several minutes after finishing it, it hits you that it's actually ... sad.

it's a simple, quick read but the most important line in this manga (which is surprisingly not said by the two main characters) is: "do you know where the borders are between sympathy, friendship, and love?" -- that specific line, after it is said, resonates with you until the very end.

it's beautiful. definitely give yuigon a shot :')

this manga is not like any yaoi manga i have ever read.. usually most of the yaoi manga's concentrates only on the sex and the plot is usually meaningless because they just want to cut to the sex parts..
this manga is very touching and very sad because it doesn't have the happy ending of the couple being together.. but i think that if they were together in the end it wouldn't be a special yaoi manga as it is now. the bond between the two of them is so special it made me want to have a special bond like that too with some one.

-I already read this manga twice ^.^

Realistic and Touching

Got to admit i ignored the prequel ^^; so i can't comment on any part of how that ties into this story. Anyway, i found this to be very touching and quite realistic too. The characters are pleasing in their depth of character and the story is detailed without being too complicated or overly-involved. But it is quite a forlorn story of two boys with traumatic pasts finding common ground to stand on together.

Although in the end it can't work out, that makes it more realistic, even though the fan girl in me is already plotting Ryouichi's wifes demise *sheepish grin*

I'm so used to reading stories with happy endings that I don't like the story if it the story doesn't end the way we wanted to be. However, this one really touched my heart. It have a really good story plot and a drive to keep this story going to the end. Although the ending might make people frustrated, I find it a good way to end it. Not all things in life ends the way we really want. Beautifully written and recommended to anyone.
