Darkly Intense

Only the first chapter has been released so far but I'm hoping the next chapter will continue the story onward.

This is a dark and intense manga with tragic and romantic undertones. At first I thought the art was strange but it matched the mood of the manga perfectly. Make sure to pay attention to how the details in the art change.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Check out Jose's/Jack's nails on the last page of the first chapter. That is an obvious sign of torture (if the changes to his mouth and body shape weren't indicative enough of his treatment after re-integrating with the police...)

I got the same feeling when I read this as when I read "Songs of Self-Abuse". So many underlying themes to think about!

For now, I'll see how this all plays out before giving it a rating.
