Interesting fantasy premise. I was a little confused at time, probably due to translation. Alei has a cute and fun personality, though he is a bit flaky and likes to tease too much. Masaki does not have the personality of a CEO; he lets Alei get away with too much. Yeah, I suppose if there was more time taken to further develop the characters' relationships with each other and the background of the magical world, it would have been a real hit. As it is, it's still good and worth a read.
I liked the fact that the main two characters weren't oh-so-the most beautifull; they were just ok. Also, this manga is very sweet and very funny, i reccomend it :3 It gives off, kinda, the "warm+intimate" vibe, i'd say... so i'm glad the whole Magic thing wasn't made into a main point of the story - that it was just a background.
Not a lot of character development, could have better as a complete series. The ending was vague and incomplete. But the backstory (magicians and sorcerers) was very interesting, a little bit more development in that direction would have made the story come alive.
Well, the story was fairly interesting and odd in some parts.

The art was all right: I really liked the design for Anubis and the underground magicians but the lead characters looked a tad too ordinary and boring. It was a pity that the spells, magic system, etc. wasn't explained in-depth.
The characters were a mixture of interesting and so-so. Marin and his father were a classic example of "like father, like son" and it was hilarious how Nathaniel had some kinda fetish for bullying Anubis. Though Arei was just fairly interesting 'cos of his magic, I've to say that many of the side characters like Marin, Anubis, Nathaniel, etc., seemed more interesting than the leads.
Oh and some of the character relations and background like how Anubis became Arei's teacher or how Arei felt about his former patron being Marin's father didn't really get much show-time or any explanations either.

Its a little typical, and a little strange, but its not too bad.
