Description
From SuBLime

Miki Terayama saved Teru from getting roughed up by some punks. They’re both in love with other guys, but one thing leads to another, and they’re fooling around. Teru acts like a stray dog that hasn’t been fed in ten days. He consumes Miki’s love quick and rough, and that can be quite a pain in the butt!

I'm sorry but that was just boring and also rather irritating. They were both really hateful characters and their constant indecision and the cheating (though they weren't technically together) was all just kinda tiresome really.
I don't know why other people find it emotional because it certainly didn't pull at my heartstrings, in fact I probably wouldn't have cared if the two main characters died in the end and I absolutely loathe tragedy. I guess then this manga just wasn't for me.

Do yourself a favor and treat yourself with this gem. Fall in love with Teru and Miki. Allow yourself to be hurt, moved and suprised by these two amazing characters and their story. And pray you can find volume 2 at a decent price. Enjoy

Emotional without Corniness

I've been avoiding this one for a while because of the artstyle. What a mistake! The art is different, than the one you get reading the usual "prettyboy" yaoi, but it is in this case the art MUST be different, or else the whole story wouldn't come across right. My was this a nice read; it got me all teary eyed, but without being corny!!!

Never have I cried because of a manga.

When I started reading Dog Style, I wasn't sure I'd end up finishing it. The style wasn't the usual pretty boys I was used to, and the story was dark and convoluted. When I finished the first volume, I was so happy I stayed with it. I read the series in one go, falling in love with it more and more with each page.

Motoni Modoru made me expand my manga repertoire and now I try out all sorts, rather than the girly ones I began with. (Although I love those too!)

Dog Style is a gripping manga that will snatch up your heart, punch the hell out of it, then cover it with band-aids and kisses. I don't know if I'll ever find a manga that I'll love more.

Wow. I can't say that I've liked the characters in a manga so much. It was tugging on my heart the whole time and although I wish there was more I think the ending was a perfect wrap to the series. READ THIS.

if u ask me yaoi, then this surely the 1st thing on my mind..it's not because it's the 1st yaoi i ever read, in fact i came to this conclusion after reading a LOT of yaoi mangas. The story is simple yet so realistic and have a lot of friendship values in it. It is also funny in a nice way, not stupidly funny and the dialogue is also what you expected from a real life situation. The sex? It's HOT! And the best things is they are real BOYS, not girly or emotional kind of boys. So that's a really really what makes this story interesting. The ending also is unique, but believe me you will end up screaming 'THAT'S IT?'...cuz i definitely want more. So for this is the BEST YAOI i've ever read!

One of the best

This was one of the first serious yaoi mangas i read, i also consider it to be one of the best i've read. First of all, the characters are very deep - they are a little bit on the twisted side but not in a bad way, and their relationship with other characters are equally as deep and detailed. The art, as expected from this mangaka is just excellent. As for the story, i enjoyed it thoroughly. It has a few moments where its slow and you wonder where its leading to, but it adds to the suspense and keeps it realistic. I really enjoyed this manga when i first read it as well as later when i re-read it. I would recommend it. Also, the humour *grin* it has some really funny random moments which liven the whole thing up.

I can't remember the last time I read a yaoi that made me cry. Don't pass this up. Seriously. This manga is a rare gem in a genre that tends to be overrun by cliches. The emotions are raw and real, and you can't help but get drawn in and feel everything the characters are feeling - sadness, happiness, frustration, fear, confusion, relief, giddiness... everything. And your heart will be pounding up until the last few pages where you meet an ending that's so overwhelmingly happy, and yet somehow just barely keeps you satisfied. You'll crave so much more, and yet you won't want to destroy the utter perfection of their ending. I can't even begin to describe everything I love about this manga, so just read it. You won't regret it.

oh ghod. i am a wreck. i thought my heart was gonna break. what a fantastic roller-coaster. it's complex, honest, tough, stubborn, witty, boyish, aggressive, silly, unpredictable, erotic, deeply emotional, and completely original. i don't cry easily, but i'm sitting here with tears streaming down my face, and i can't stop. was this really just 3 volumes? these people became my friends. i sat in that abandoned building with them, and i bled with them. i don't want to leave. i might just read it again right away.

i need an 11 to give it a proper rating. this is a story that is everything i read BL for and find so very rarely. i will buy copies and give them to my friends, even the ones who don't read BL. and i'll write my first ever fan letter to a mangaka.

Go Read It. [NOW.]

Simply amazing. There are few yaoi mangas, and I mean VERY few mangas that manage to be this real. The characters are real boys, not girls dressed up in mens clothing. Their situation is realistic and believable and the kissing and sex is HOT. One thing I love about this manga is that the transition into love is smooth and almost so subtle you hardly even notice it, not fast and abrupt like most yaoi, and manga in general. This makes Teru and Miki's story so amazing. The characters are believable and inspiring, the plot was magnificent and never left you confused and the man on man action was smoking. And most of all, the love was real and tangible. For any manga fan, not just yaoi readers, this is a must-read because this is the kind of story that MAKES you get into yaoi. Dog Style has made me an honorary Motoni Modoru fan, and has made me read more of her twisted masterpieces. Start reading Dog Style and join in on the fun. Chiaki X Miki forevaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!! XD

seriously though, go read it.

NOW.
