I'm not sure what they were reading but... This is 100% exactly the same as alpha/omega. It's specifically mentioned that there are strict laws in place because people were just raping others during heats. And saying there's consent the whole way through? Dubious consent at best.
He literally goes into heat and RUNS AWAY to get to a locked room so he wouldn't have sex because HE DIDNT WANT TO. And yet the LI chases him, corners him in the room, and takes him.
The LI also threatens someone by saying it's a federal offense if both parties don't give consent during heat, after he did that twice already, and then immediately tries a third time.
The whole thing was about how the MC couldn't control his urges (just like omegas) during heats and how he was specifically avoiding the LI in these times because he didn't want to just sleep with him because of that. You can't call what happened consent.

As far as an alphaxomega style story it's pretty standard with everything that usually happens.

The characters are good, graphics are pretty, storytelling could be slightly better but I've read way worst.

The universe is one of the strong point of the story: This is a bit like an Omegaverse, with a special breed that deal with heat and rut and potential mpreg, but without the alpha / omega dominance relationship. As a result, this is very cute.

So for it to have ABO elements I am super glad the rape elements wasn't a ever so present thing ; of course they do talk about it but and no point wasn't there consent , so that's nice.
It is so so lovely and sweet is full of fluffy and erotic read. And the ending super cute~

I love cat ears and tails. It’s pretty weird for beasts to have both human and animal ears. Miyaji is so adorable with his ears. Kijima is such a hottie. I’m glad they become a family. This reminds me of an omegaverse.
