Scanlations are awful

Okay, yes, I'll admit to being new to the "scene" here, but let me tell you, as a newb to the scene, the experience is quite poor.

I could be completely off-base with this, but what I see is a bunch of different translators who don't want to step on the feet of other translators so they don't translate chapters that are already finished by someone else. First we have the problem of no one ever finished volume 3. What happened? Everyone just decided to jump to volume 4, 5, 6, and 7...yet here lies volume 3 unfinished.
I am going to assume since none of these groups seem to want to step on each other, they are just going to assume volume 3 is being taken care of - or at the least, each chapter...but, for the record...I actually own the printed copies of the manga. I can't read them, but I can confirm....even the 9th chapter is missing a page...but because someone else already *cough* "translated" that chapter, I'm going to assume none of the other translators will go back and fix that. I will just have to cross my fingers and hope.

So...Volume 3 is a disaster: Missing pages 1-10, missing chapter 8, and missing a page in chapter 9, then missing the chapters 10, 11, 12, and 13.

I want to take time to say: godforbid, if a scanlator group reads this comment; it's okay to translate something already translated. I know it might seem like a waste of time, but having more options is appreciated. Sometimes, some of these scanlators like to take "creative liberties" with their translations that put me right off.

In addition, most of these scanlations are lacking the additional content of the manga and any auxilary information. Koi (as do most manga authors) usually adds an end note, maybe some additional illustrations, and of course credits at the beginning and/or end of each volume. Yes, I do want to read those. I do want to know who he is crediting and why. I want to see the manga preserved as I bought it (just in English). As for auxilary information, there are lots of references to either Japanese culture or other references that the reader might not be savvy to...I see this *A LOT* in anime subs. Groups like DeadFish usually add forewords or afterwords explaining concepts seen in the episode, so it surprises me that the scanlators I've seen don't offer the same thing.
