Characters are underdeveloped, The ML who supposed to have misophobia or some other problem from girls lol but when the FL just hugs he becomes a SUPER SIMP and then just falls for her I mean come on the author is that lazy.
The FL who is patheticly week in emotions and badly written, she pretends to be some sort of ice princess and the cringe love Triangle is this the ultimate FL Fantasy this super trash love rubbish.
This received the high rating is a sign of doom for shoujo genre.

It was amazing until the very end

there are a lot of reviews so I won't go into detail about why the story was good ill just say it went downhill at the end, at least for me.
now its been a while since I read it but when I found I can leave a review I really wanted to rant, maybe I'm just picky and sorry if you disagree with me.
*spoiler alert*
By the end, Han Si Hoo fell in love with Baek Ma Ri so because of that Yoo Chae Rin decided to ruin Baek Ma Ri's life by exposing to everyone shes a vampire. Everyone who knew she was a vampire like Jo Ah Ra and Jung Soo Ri got over it as they had time to process it but everyone else in school decided to bully her sooo much that by the end she wanted to commit suicide and almost did but Jung Jae Min's friend saw her and told him so he rescued her, all of that is sad and made me cry every time I saw it and everyone knows bullying is bad and all that so the writers I guess did a good job in that but what actually destroys it for me was that at the very end after everything Baek Ma Ri went through Yoo Chae Rin just dissapears as Han Se Hoo took her away somewhere. I was SOO angry about that she just got away with what she did. Bullying is bad but in Baek Ma Ri's point of view I would want to get revenge on Yoo Chae Rin, and I dont mean bullying ways just that she should not be able to just get away with what she did, at least go to prison as in her point of view "destroy the person who want to steal my man... after I do that my man takes me away. So if anyone else gets in my way ill do that too... or worse" I get that she was 'in love' but no one should go through what Baek Ma Ri gone through and get away with it.
I really did enjoy it and its something I re-read but skim the end so my rating for most of it is pretty high, its just the ending that lowers it.

If you like reading romance with zero surprises, boring character tropes and stupid cliches, this is the manhwa for you! The male protag falls for her based on nothing but looks. I don't blame him though because she hardly has a personality outside of being a mediocre tsundere. God, this was a boring read.

Beyond expectations

Living in America, oppresion is not a new concept. We had slavery for a hundred years, then Jim Crow laws, then a number of backlashes against the LGBT community, and even today police brutality against black and Latino communities. All of these targeted minorities who, for the most part, had no say in whether they were the minority or not. They were born that way. And that is what this manhwa portrays beautifully.

When I first started reading, I was expecting something like a shoujo Noblesse. Where an OP vampire teams up with humans and defeats the bad vampires and humans and saves the day. Maybe a romantic subplot. However, this is completely different from what the manhwa is about.

This is about the struggle to find ones identity even when that identity is "wrong". The main character is not an hero, but someone who builds walls around her to protect her from others who disapprove of who she is. As the story progresses, she starts to break those walls down, and begins to let others into her life. She has to overcome her childhood trauma and believe in humanity again.

However, that's not why this manhwa is amazing. It's incredible because this story is not unique to this manhwa. I have a number of LGBT friends, and all of them went through similar processes of coming out and accepting who they are. They had some of the same doubts and fears as the main character. Moreover, it doesn't stereotype anyone. It deals with oppresion the way that a normal person would.

Lastly, it emphasizes how hard it actually is to accept yourself. Some people that I know do not refrain from bigotry, and this manhwa really put how tough it is to come out with people like that around you into light.

Moving on from that rant,
Art 10/10
Characters 8/10 (a little frustrating at times)
Plot 9/10 (for reasons discussed above)
Depth 23/10
Enjoyment 9.7 /10 (hard to get into but stick with it)

Is recommended. If you need more reasons to read it, it got an 8.3 or something on myanimelist

Friend: Mari, what are your plans after graduation?
Mari: Me?...Everything.

What kind of answer is that?!

Jeezus, what a rushed ending! I used to have some interest in this webtoon a few years ago, but unfortunately the hiatus actually caused my interest to wane. The characters all seem one-dimensional and although the story starts out interesting with some important moral themes, it falls flat towards the end.

Fresh start but derails into illogical storytelling

The start of the story was typical but it was FUNNY. However, the author ran out of ideas to write pretty fast, LIKE SUPER FAST. It's a continuous repetition of the same teenage angst except with "vampire issues." The girl is most frustrating. Despite all these rationalizations from the author that keeps telling the readers of how afraid the female MC is about exposing her vampire identity to her BF, it's ultimately unconvincing and selfish of her.

Another unconvincing thing about this series is the world setting for racist-like treatment that vampires get. It's basically a setting of vampires being discriminated as monsters. What's unrealistic is that people act too illogical to the point that everyone sounds like they're preschoolers. It's the type of situation where the whole world is against you for no reason just to make the heroine's discrimination from bad to worst.

Another point is the stagnant character developments. After 100 chapters, the annoying MC and the ignorant side characters still are annoying and ignorant except for a few. The character are too flat and 2d. The antagonist, which is basically a rival who continuously tries to dissuade the female MC's foolishness to get a human BF, is too flat. Despite this antagonist's situation and surroundings (where humans shower him love), he keeps thinking that his is a victim of vampire discrimination. Makes no sense. Same for some of the other characters. The side characters have one characterization and the author keeps hammering that to the readers but then if there's a crisis these characters do 180 degree turns just to satisfy the situation...

Ultimately, this is a coming of age story for the characters in a setting of vampire discrimination with romance as the driving plot. However, the little character developments along with flat/bipolar characterizations make reading this story frustrating and pointless.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Well, I have read so many shoujos that I can't even count. To be honest, out of all the mangas/manhwas/webtoons that I have read, this only deserves a 5.5
Why?
The premise is good. The story will at least deserve a 7 (for me) if the romance is well executed in the next few chapters. As someone has said below, THE PROTAGONISTS, sadly, ARE THE MOST BORING AND ANNOYING CHARACTERS in this webtoon. The girl is normal and have no special trait, both appearance and personality, except for the fact that she is a vampire; And I have to agree to someone who has said below, the guy is like a creepy stalker.... Then the romance is a continuation of push-pull situations, many cliches and dramas. What's more, even after finishing this, I still have a doubt about their love bond, 'cuz it seems fragile and breakable. Maybe just my feeling :-?
I don't even want to say much about the message the author wants to send through this series. Discrimination can be clearly seen, but it is too simple to the point of shallow. The story makes the heroine a victim from the beginning to end, without growing to stand up for herself. Sigh ~
The ending is too rushed, with almost no problems solved.
I give it a 5.5 because I really like the white-haired guy. He's hot (lol) and way more interesting than the male lead. Actually I'm happy that he doesn't end up with the heroine, 'cuz he deserves more than that.
The blonde girl is hilarious, too, and she's nice.
Btw, It's not related to this but, you can try Cheese in the trap. It's a good series ;)
