Loved Annarasumanera. Lost interest here.

I can tell there's a good plot and story here, Ha Il Kwon's art is also an added bonus, but I didn't like it enough to keep reading, and I wish it weren't the case.

I liked Annarasumanera and went on to read this next only to find instead of a kid short on money... The protag is a shinji character redux.
The plot is him meeting this robot girl and I expect it up get really good when he has to confront the humanity in her and himself etc. like the protag did in Annarasumanera.
I am all about that humanity-in-question.

There's only so much I can take until the "hilariously" horny faces become not so hilarious. I loved NGE and I can stand Shinji, but 3 level combo lays on the adolescent that has never kissed a girl but fantasizes about touching boobs lower-end-of-social-food-chain trope gag so heavily that I stopped caring about reading the story all together.

Maybe it'll be different for you.

Seems like a good manga

The first 6 chapters doesn't show much about the plot yet. The plot of the story is that a boy who is poor is getting bullied by his classmates and his childhood friend. The protagonist likes this girl but he is a loser. This company creates the first robot girl that looks human and their first test is by sending her in the protagonist's class.

The first 6 chapters are just introduces the manhwa and there haven't been much plot development yet. It sucks that the scanlation group drop this manhwa because chapter 6 leaves a cliffhanger and I am dying to find out what happens. The manhwa seems like it will be good and the author of this manhwa is my favorite webtoon artist. I hope some group picks this up.

Edit: After finishing this manhwa I have to say that I didn't like it very much. There were many things I didn't like about this manhwa. One example is the character development between the main character's childhood friends who are now distance because of some stupid reason. Another example is the how everyone is fine about the bullying happening in front of them everyday. There's more reasons but I don't have to make this post long.

My initial rating was an 8, but now it's a 6. The thing I only liked abut this manhwa was the ending because it wasn't a typical happy ending.

Ha Il-Kwon, you are amazing.

I love his webtoons. They're realistic and touching, with a dash of humor. All of the characters are so layered, and I really love his art style. This is one of his earliest webtoons. You can definitely tell that his story-telling skills are at first unrefined, but compare that with the end chapters and his more recent webtoons like Annarasumanara, and you'll see he's matured beyond comparison.

This particular story reminded me a bit of Oyasumi Punpun. The same isolation, bullying themes are present, but it's mixed with Ha Il-Kwon's trademark weird art and story-telling style. A lot of what happens in his stories aren't said, but is shown through the character's actions. The ending is ambiguous, as are the endings of most of Ha Il-Kwon's stories, but I interpreted it to be a happy one, since I like happy endings more than tragedies.

If you like the in-your-face stories that reveal sides of human nature that we tend to avoid much like Oyasumi Punpun or even Annarasumunara, this one is right for you. Again, do remember this is one of the earliest (if not the earliest) webtoons from Ha Il-Kwon so don't expect something that's the same quality as God of Bath or Annarasumnara right off the bat. But he really is one of my favorite authors among all the comics I've ever read (counting American ones like Batman).

I really do love this webtoon alot. The development between the main character and the robot is really full of depth, but the relationships between the childhood friends is a little more murky and isn't as connected with the reasons for the split as I would have liked it

Extra-Special Stuff!

In a genre of entertainment that's aimed mainly at teenagers or people in their 20s, high school is the natural and most convenient place to situate a story.

If you then want your story to depict some very strong, and often painful, emotions AND also some interesting ideas about human nature and the nature of current society—well that's a super-hard job. Ha Il-Kwon here gets all that stuff in with amazingly good results, and a lot of wonderful drama and sweet tentative love as well.

I read it straight through last night. I couldn't have put it down if I wanted to.

A good read

The pattern is similar; the boy meets a robot. Of course, he's going
to fall in love with her, and of course she's going to become more human.
But to be quite honest I wasn't interested in their relationship, what I did wish
to see more was his relationship with the others; why didn't the author give closure to
side characters stories? What about the pretty boy and the genius girl? The
girl he had a crush on and the other bullies? And his sister?
So many questions left unanswered.

I wish he would have changed for himself and not for someone else.
This story makes me think he would be miserable without her,
I wanted him to grow and become stronger so he could stand up for
himself and be confident any time, any day.

TLDR;
The drama was good, the drawings are beautiful and the colors were pleasing
for the eyes and the plot is fine but needs more improvement.

Protaganist is so pathetic

I like the overall plot, but i have a hard time trying to stomach a protaganist that allows himself to be bullied to biblical proportions on a daily basis. Not only that, there is always snot coming out of his noise and druell hanging on the edge of his mouth. I couldn't live with myself if i was were in His shoes and didn't at least try to fight back. i mean, he was getting beat up everyday, so why would he have to loose by fighting back. Back when i was in 5th grade, i went to a public school for yhr first time. Since i was new, a few of the "cool kids" tried to bully me, but i put and end to that nonsense real quick.

Anyway, regardless of how good the rest of the story may be, the overall sad state of the proaganist makes it's painfull to read.

It is a story about the world's most pathetic excuse for a teenage boy, and how an emotionless robot touched his heart with mundane, pre-programmed, positive statements. It doesn't seem like the formula for a good comic, and in fact, it is a formula for disaster, but this author somehow pulls it off.
