The art is gorgeous, and the action riveting. The plot is way beyond mere revenge; the series takes you deeper into the martial arts world than any other. Read this series if you want to have a good time.

Godlike Art, Average Story
by Samken

Blood and Steel plot is the average revange story, someone is killed (In this case, the clan of the protagonist) and he goes on a journey to avenge them. The story is average at best, but the artwork of this Manhua is godlike. It's so beautiful, so detailed, major props for the artist. I would give a 10 just for the artwork alone, but the story holds the score to a 7.

Blade of the Immortal without the Immortal.

Title sums it up. A new school of martial art is going around challenging the old traditional schools to earn the title of the strongest. Strong art, weak story. Doesn't matter though because the fights are worth reading. Suffers from a bad case of telling instead of showing but art makes up for it. It occasionally is hard to follow during action scenes from panel to panel.

Great plot and characters..

especially when you take into consideration that this is the first manhua of the comic's artists.
Hopefully it won't end up being rushed, because the story, up until now, has been given great care.

The character designs are very detailed, after some of the chapters there are descriptions of the weapons that the characters use and during the battles the descriptions also help the reader to better understand the fights..

Personally I think that this manhua is better than most manwha, manga and manhua out there..
for people who like adventure comics and a seemingly steadily growing story, this is a great read

Nice art, not so good story

Art is pretty nice, but the visual presentation of some of the action is a bit lacking imho. Not horrible and I'm sure that part will probably get better. However, there are some other things I don't care for and for me the biggest weakness is the story. It reads like a bad kung fu movie from the 1970s. So far its not working at all for me. This has nothing to do with it being a Manhua. A good story is a good story no matter where it comes from or the medium. As far as comparisons with Berserk that one poster made, I think its premature. There are many, many good stories out there. This one hasn't gotten that good yet. It may, but its not there right now.

Definitely A Must Read

Great storytelling + great art + great character development, what is not to love? Only shallow people who don't have patience and the intelligence to assimilate such a good material would rate this low.

This one is my favorite manhua! It's a real pleasure to read. The character development is growing steady and strong. The story is at a normal pace not too fast not too slow and with a rare fight description you dont see often!. The author actually describes each fight and you dont only see Ugh!, Ahh! etc.We get to see detailed fight descriptions such as what's the name for each move they make, and the reason behind using every move. Last but not least THE ART IS DIVINE!!!!!!!!!!! A very detailed art allows you to take a peek into China's beautiful building and streets architecture!

This is a must read!

Its because the author narrates too much.

Reading so much narration, moreover a narration that feel so detached, gives hints that the author doesn't trust his characters. Story deliverance is centered in square boxes, very rarely on bubbles. It is like you can take all the characters away and the author will still be fine spouting his story. Long be short: I don't read story without character.

to person above me:
Well, are you reading novel right now? Is it not manhua (where you can see characters drawn and say their lines)? Your argument is invalid, your idiocy is apparent.

Hooked on

As the guy below posted, It's honestly breathtaking and I've yet to see a manhua, which has hooked me this much due to the plot (Ofc it's only begun). I'd even say it might become better than Berserk or Ares plotwise.

I can't await the next releases and I'm looking forward that they'll come fast!!
