No matter what others say, i'm positive, they are a couple! (although i'm not sure if they are like that in a physical way).

After reading chapter 43 it really feels like i'm reading a bl manga. Before i had my doubts about the relationship between the main characters but now i'm feeling that it could progress in something else.

Like a good pop song, gets you hooked, gets stuck in your head. It's a fun read, but I stopped believing a few volumes into it that the mystery surrounding the W.A. drug would ever progress let alone be solved. It's like dark matter - probably floating around somewhere out there in space, totally inexplicable, not super relevant.

Nor do I understand why so many people would be interested in a drug that kills you after a couple of trips. To sell it to the army? Not likely - there's plenty of similar ways (minus weird beast transformation) to kill people already. The whole premise just kinda dissolves. Fortunately, this is not a manga you read for the plot.

The little story-lets spanning 2-3 chapters are usually quite entertaining. The characters are funny both within the context of the story and on a meta level. Tokito and Kubota have a great relationship. Friends? Lovers? Whatever. It strikes me as a much more genuine relationship based on human connection rather than preconceived social categories.

The art can be a little weird. The faces are great, but in the color drawings the abdomens look all kinds of wrong. I guess that goes well with the humans as bags of guts/die with my guts squashed out reoccuring metaphor. Still, not pleasing to look at.

I'm a bit mystified as to why I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the next chapter. It's not like Toki and Kubo-chan are ever gonna get it on (don't let the shonen-ai label fool you.) The "mystery" is not engaging (I don't give a damn who that shadowy molester figure in Toki's flashbacks is. I'm pretty sure I know that story.) Wild Adapter is just fun in it's own way. I'll hum along happily while the tune lasts, but I won't remember it long afterwards.

It is fantastic. I like how the relationship between Kubo and Toki is never stated out loud but it's definitely there (though the art pages give a good deal of confirmation xD).
I also love how there is definitely a plot going on in there, it's kind of episodical in nature, more like a detailed theme and character study than a long story. The manga is always told from the point of view of a side character, and said character is always very endearing to the reader.
Anyway, if you're a BL fan but also a plot fan, I highly recommend this.
It's on hiatus right now, set for re-serialization in spring 2013 (the manga-ka had to have an operation after a series of health problems).

I only liked Saiyuki by Minekura-sensei. But then I got to reading/watching Executive Committee, then I found this. It confused me at first because I read Araiso before this. And then I started reading it. I was so into it, I read it before my homework. XD;

The bond (and the obvious a;gjhlkadhskl love) between Kubota and Tokito is so obvious that you'd want them to just get on with it and be together for the rest of their lives. I'm still in agony in being hung with Dice 42.

It's such an amazing manga (although it's not censored, and not appropriate for children who are easily traumatized) that you'd want to read (and cannot wait for) more.

First, I'll talk about the art style, which seemed rather odd at first, but it grows on you, after seeing how grearly detailed it is. The characters are drawn in a unique way.

The story, like the art, confused me at first. But after reading a few chapters it just sucked me in.
The themes are so interesting, and it's , it's shounen ai !!!
I love my BL stuff, but this is something totally different.

And amazing and interesting read.
Mingeled with mystery and shounen ai, you're bond to enjoy it^^

My friend lent me two of the volumes. I'd heard that this series was really good, but never read it. At first, I was a bit put off by the first volume. What others have said is true: it's not for the faint-hearted. However, I got to the 2nd volume, and I love the mix of action, drama, and humor that the author put into it, and I love the relationship between the two main chars. It's obvious that the author does not write simplistic plots, and that's a good thing. Now, I'm going to have to go read (and watch) Saiyuki, which I've also heard is really good. xD

To me it's obvious that Kubota & Tokito are a couple, but I can understand why people keep debating about it. You can never expect clearer hints in Minekura's works, that's already her style. Even Stigma took me 3 times of reading again and again and again to realize the shota hints inside it, let alone this shounen-like drama. That fact may annoy most yaoi fans (including me T_T)
But still.. I'm speechless before her gorgeous drawings...

I was reading Saiyuki and decided to browse through Minekura-sensei's other works, and I found this. I was hesitant at first, because I've never really read dark manga (not that this is ULTRA-dark or anything, but it's definitely not for the weak-hearted). But after reading a couple chapters of WA, I found it to be very interesting, and I got hooked.

The relationship between Kubota and Tokito is very complex in WA. Readers interpret it differently. Some say they're together (which I think is true), some think Kubota is just a creep (sure, he's creepy, but that's what makes him so cool..), and some think they're just friends. But keep in mind, WA is published in a BL magazine. ^^;

I really like how each volume is sort of like a flashback. For each volume, there is supposedly a different story-teller.

If you like WA, but wish to see Tokito and Kubota in more light-hearted situations, I recommend that you read the AU manga also by Minekura-sensei, Executive Committee.

Overall, I give it a 10/10.

I stumbled upon this after reading Saiyuki and it was amazing. I read the first 3 volumes and got hooked really bad with WA. It has all the things I'm looking for in a manga. Great story, great art..me likes!!

What I like the most in a story is the double meaning you have in a simple action/word and I can find so many in here. If you think what you see is what you get, then think again. It goes far deeper than that. This story is dark and complex. It doesn't stay with one perspective so we can view everything from another's POV and somehow, that view is just the same as how we view the situation. I kinda like that.

Kubota and Tokita are...I dunno what to call their relationship is. They're too close to be just friends and yet too distant to be lovers. I have to say I like the way Minekura-sensei portrays their bond. Everything they do just keeps you thinking, there must be something more to them but could I be wrong? And, whoa...Kubota might be all cool and handsome, but he is one guy I hate to have as my enemy. If you wanna know why, you have to read it.

And is it just me or does anyone think that the 4 votes in 1 rating is from the users who go around giving manga with shounen-ai or yaoi in their genre a 1? This story is very likely deserves more than that. Read it, and be sure to get hooked.

maybe the translation is messed up, but theres only a miniscule hint of homosexual eroticism in the manga, making the hero pretty gender ambiguous. this is a heads up for those that avoid these genres. This mangas worth trying. i cant seem to decide whether to put him under as bisexual, gay or straight and i think that adds to the appeal of the main characters.
