Even he forgot how to eat, when you meet a very difficult case he will directly give his name card, "The Greatest Detective Kiyoshiro Yumemizu" to people in need. Ai, Mai, and Mii Iwasaki are triplets neighbors who always remind Kiyoshiro everyday.

Note: Won the Kodansha Manga Award for Children's Manga in 2009.

ARGHH WHERE IS THIS MANGA NOW

I've ready the one licensed in my country, up to volume 9. And then it disappeared without trace. I found out that the Japanese original version has it published up to volume 13, so after a decade of waiting, I've decided to buy book 9-13 although I can't read Japanese, for the sake of satisfying my curiosity. To my own demise (that I somewhat foreseen tho), I don't believe the series "ends" finally, cause the ending of Volume 13 is just like the other volumes. So, I WILL WAIT TILL THE DAY I DIE TO FIND OUT THE "REAL" ENDING OF THIS MANGA.

The interesting part for me is the age group targeted by this manga. Seeing how it was published in a teenage shoujo manga (Nakayoshi), I can see why there is almost no blood or muder depicted in the series. Although the title is called "The Great Detective", he mostly solves trick or mystery that is not necessarily a murder case. The trick is also interesting, albeit not scientifically in depth like our shounen detective counterparts (Conan, Q, Kindaichi, QED, etc), but it's really suitable for the adolescent (female reader) me.

So I get back to this series as a fully grown-up working woman now, and I still stand by my opinion that the mystery/trick part is light and there is no bloodshed at all. HOWEVER, I only realise a deeper and very humane message in each story. The self-proclaimed Great Detective Kiyoshiro Yumemizu always leads me back to find my empathy and hope for the future. It tells tale about how children should be happy regardless of the era. Somehow it resonates well especially with the irony of the reality we're currently living in.

Also, this sounds underrated but Kei Enue's visual and storytelling are top notch! It pulls me into the story really well! The subtle romance is cute too <3

A great combination of comedy and mystery. Though I used to have no interest with this series, since I started reading, it turned into one of my favourite! The more I read it, the more I find it interesting. I love Enue sensei's art style, which somehow "drags" readers into the story. It contains a mystery, yet it tickles the readers with fresh humour. The shoujo contents make this manga perfect to me. No wonder if it won an award…

The only thing wrong is I can't find the scanlation. Sssh, I would appreciate anyone who's willing to have this series scanlated. For me, and the other readers!
