why the hell did i give it a 10?

since im going to be probably the only one to give this manga a 10 i see it fit to give an explanation.
the thing itself is quite normal so a 6 to 8 rating is what is just. But the explanation at the end by the dog when he broke reality to the kid is really something that is hardly used ever, any way that just make the thing to jump so it scratches 8/10.

The next points have the origin on that wonder full and priceless section known as "the diary of my debut" a hence the name diary that allows us to get an idea of the environment from when this manga gets published, all of this of course from the view of Tezuka, he manages to relate in a lighthearted yet serious way all the things that happened in this postwar japan, without necessarily indulging into his family or university life (which i wish he had told), with social and political commentary you can see perfectly the kind of guy he was growing into, it also shows his inspirations and critics, how his family supported him, and how the manga world was at the time, really a wonderful job, thanks to the happyscans group for making this accessible. And then there is the explanation of the edition of this manga (on Spanish) which adds another level of insight to the things this publication had to go through, you may thing for this being a pioneer publication that detonates the boom of manga and to come from Tezuka himself, that the editing and reworking on it would have been minimum and close to the creators idea but as we find out the original Treasure island got plenty of things changed to the point the work inspired a certain degree of shame to Tezuka on his older years, nevertheless he gets back with this issue and tries to redeem the story. Whether he manages to do it or not is up to you.

But my point here with this long comment is to encourage you to read that short diary, a nice experience that adds to the whole adventure of reading what it is considered an historic relevant manga, not really for his plot itself but for the things it generated, not saying that the thing itself is bad but really Tezuka has way better things, and this one in particular is one of its humble (or taking into account it success at the time bold) beginnings.

A story with a surprising ending.

An interesting manga, for it's time.
The plot is about a boy who wants to find a treasure on an island, or at least that how it starts anyway. The story isn't long by any means, and the story is simple enough and nothing new by today's standers. At first glance, there is really nothing that stands out about this story, but I do believe that it had a surprisingly mature ending. The type of ending that I would say is ahead of it's time. The type of ending you wouldn't expect a story such as this to have, and I'll say the ending alone might make this manga worth reading, if possible.
