Karigari Hiroshi is a total robotics geek/genius who really likes this one girl, Marie. He's too shy to ask her out, so he becomes obsessed with creating a perfect android copy of Marie. He succeeds perfectly in creating Marie, an android with the intelligence and heart/emotions of a human and who looks just like Mari (though with different colored hair). Of course, Karigari never really considered the implications of such a thing.

If you liked Video Girl Ai then you will probably like Metal Angel Marie because both Ai and Marie are conflicted as they try to help their guys meet their dream girl. Hilarious tough.
You will not be bored easily while reading this because of after every event solve there will be another one exciting will occur.. also when you read it far enough knowing the past and personality of marie(not the Android one) you will think OMG what's happening.. slowly getting to drama genre and I hate drama T_T and marie(not the Android one) dont stain the pure karigari hiroshi pls.. marie(not the Android one) can get out off the picture now.. too sad for karigari hiroshi that his expectations toward marie(not the Android one) is the opposite and by the time he knows the past and personality of marie it might break his heart and its time for the new appearance of a new girl.. hahahaha just kidding i hope hiroshi would dump marie(not the Android one) and find a new girl to devote his love.. hahahahha

In both plot and character building. Pathetically weak MC, both physically and mentally living with a magical semi-girlfriend. A light read, but you should know what to expect reading this.
There was also a VERY short OVA based off this (though it probably takes place over 2-3 Volumes)
This manga serialized in "Young Jump Comics".
