I was a little put-off by the style, at first. The faces bother me sometimes--it's mostly the way Gin Amou draws eyes, I think. However, the art is lush and the backgrounds are painstakingly detailed. The simpler drawings are also very cute and the action scenes are entertaining.
It's also nice to see more interactions between the Final Fantasy 12 characters. Personally, I'm hoping to see more interaction between Penelo and Fran! <3

If you enjoyed the game but thought it was little lacking in character interaction then I would definitely recommend reading this. There's also a lot more humour and it goes more into the back story of certain characters. Will be looking forward to seeing more of this and also more Balthier/Ashe (which the game definitely needed more of).
