Cute, funny but finishes weak

It was really cute, funny and I thought it had a great hook. A female wrestler comes back to her sport with a child after having abruptly leaving the sport. Its also a story about friendship and family. However, the end really let me down. It felt like it was heading someplace meaningful and then ends a bit abruptly, even the last page with the panels cut out one of the characters that the main character was supposed to meet. The author's note implies that she couldn't keep up a monthly schedule and the manga was then pushed back to a release every 2 months. It was probably loosing readers and they were forced to cut it a little short. The last chapter or so felt like the author was struggling to pull the story together. I'm not sure I like were the MC ended up in the end and it didn't seem like it was heading that direction for most of the story. At a minimum I would have liked to have seen a few more pages to just flesh things out more and better transitions during the flashbacks. This was a decent story, but it could have easily been a better one.

It's a slice of life in its purest form, which means random interactions with little effect as isolated moments, but that build characters and motivations. Or at least, that's what I think it's the idea. I stopped as soon as I realized that wrestling is considered an actual competition in this manga. It's fine when it's some shounen battle manga, but it really feels out of place in a realistic seinen setting. It would have been more interesting and fun if throwaway lines about booking and such were put in it, and it wouldn't have mattered anyway, since wrestling is hardly the focus here.
