Why it left a cliffhanger?

This is one of the rare times that I will say this: The manga was much better. The main reason is because the ending cliffhanger of the anime was handled much better than the manga's, that leaves it much more open. I personally believe the story would be awesome, if the 2 last pages did not exist.

The story is about a weird situation and a guy solving a mystery with logic and luck. For what it is, it was awesome, but leaving it open in the end if annoying. For anyone that will read this, watch the anime and ignore the manga. Also keep in mind this is a mystery story, not an adventure. The whole thing feels like a detective sidestory of a bigger one, that is about to save the world. We only get the sidestory though (which I loved), so do not expect anything about the whole "save the world" part.

This franchise could be so much better...

The manga now went into translation as the anime gave the novel exposure and further lacked any form of closure.
The opening is different and less well done than the shows (don´t ask me about the OG novels) and the weird Ecchi elements feel out of place. The manga could thus fall apart just like the anime and is in a worse starting place already. But maybe not?
