Questions raised and actually answered(!)

...at least those that can be answered.
Reading most of the other comments, I feel somewhat obligued to comment on this one.
First of all, this manga brings up some serious, essential and damn underrated points on society.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
basically the domestic rape scene and some subconscious sexism as in the whole make-up thingie

These two issues are at least common; the latter isn't just that but influencing everyone. There's a reason why the models in the playboy mag aren't 1 meter 60 / 120 kg; there's a reason for me getting myself some alcohol to get wasted when I'm down and for my female friends meeting up and discussing problems when they're down.
To quote the forums, a man's got to be:
Quote
-Taller than me
-Older than me
-Protective (but not controlling)
-Masculine and dominant voice

While it's a major problem, making (thanks to parent's raising their kids accordingly) half of mankind at least act weak; it's so common, so basic to our personalities, many (especcially young) people don't like to see it.
It's almost impossible to convince people of your thoughts on questions they don't ask themselves, so with topics like these, it's best to make people aware of them. Anything else would be overdone and even more ineffective.
The question on resolving from the said problems is: "how to cope with it".
And that, to get back to the manga, is answered. Woman don't need to act manly they're strong in their own way, got possibilities a guy doesn't have etc. This is expressed a bit bluntly, but whatever. So it's:
From a female perspective: you can life happily in society as long as you know your strength and limits, but you can't run away from your gender.
From a male's perspective it's actually a call to not be macho etc.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The male main char doesn't find love and happiness in the end. (which at least borders bluntliness on a cheap level imo)

More the author couldn't do though, as stated before and just raising these issues takes enough "balls" (...) already. So this manga is at the very least a worthy contribution to a not-really-discussed problem - good if you aren't after cheap romance.

This is a very superficial story. No real resolutions to serious problems, the complexity of gender issues weren't really discussed despite the fact that those were huge points in the story.

It was okay. Wasn't great, but wasn't terrible.

Palpable Love Scenes; Character Development Weak
by MightyMaeve

The art is lush, expressive and elegant; I thought I could never tire of it as I fell headlong into the heady drug rush of this tankobon. That was the first quarter. The story, however, started to feel like i was banging into tree branches on the way down, until, finally, i hit rocks.

The increasing irritation became exponential. Comics is the magic of story told with words and images--for this title, the art began to lose it's magic as the story telling and characterization ran afoul. The male amd females, as people, all became simplified (at their worst and most gender stereotyped, it seems), and responses to serious, fundamental issues of identity and love were never explored as the beginning promised.

Not very good at all.

This is the first time I've ever rated anything a "1".

It's probably not a bad story if you're a girl who likes cheap bathos and drama, but I'm a guy who likes epic romance and wonderful yuri endings. With the exception of the yuri factor, this story managed to push every one of my rage buttons; I truly hated this story.

Of course, as shown in the other comments, your mileage may vary.

wonderful short manga

It's not a very deep story, especially with just being one volume. But it's enough that gets you very interested in the different characters (except of course the main male, who is just the cliche jerk of a man found in yuri stories). Very good read.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
The thing that kind of bugged me was the part when Ureha and Sawori break up. It was all just vague and awkward until finally they've broken apart and then that's the end of them.
I wish there was maybe one more chapter though after Sawori sees Ureha at the lingerie pub. Like was when Sawori came and saw Mako-chan and Ureha after 5 years, was that the first time they had seen eachother since than?
It seems that they both still loved eachother after everything, and Sawori seemed to understand the warmth of another person when holding Mako-chan.
As much as I liked the this story and the endings, it was still an ambiguous ending that makes me wonder "what if" too much.

Things to love/like about this manga

Things to love/like about this manga:

how she drew the sex/lovemaking between everyone, how she portrayed the women's naked bodies(very sexy and sensual), how the characters were drawn(they look kinda cute, elegant, sweet, etc.), ability to get certain adult women's feelings right, the interwoven scenes about the characters' lives, how everyone sort of sobered up by end of the story, etc.

Things to hate about this manga:
the melodrama and angst, certain plot points
Spoiler (highlight to view)
(WTF usage of rape to push 1 woman to another woman)
, some of the stereotyping about both genders, how the characters treated one another at times(oh so cruel and there wasn't even any message or thought-provoking about their behaviours), etc.

Despite the bad points, let me just say that I kinda liked this manga and on some level, it was even enjoyable.
