its heartwarming, and the fact that the author managed to make it seem understandable/ not speed n forced romance eventho its a oneshot is smth i rlly like

I generally dislike stories featuring a "master-pet" relationship because it's... well, frankly pretty degrading for the "pet" in most cases. But this one turned out to be a bit different and had a more interesting backstory than I thought. Despite Katsuragi appearing to treat Aoi like a pet, it's clearly more of an excuse on his part; he seems more interested in taking care of her and getting to know her (probably in preparation for closer ties between their families in the future, as it's implied). And the real theme behind it is having Aoi learn that she is actually a person of value rather than something that can be bought or used as interest for a debt - I love that Katsuragi is the one who sees her as something precious and teaches her that. It would have been nice if this was extended into a full series, but for the 40 pages that we're given, I think the story is quite nicely done. It's not meant to be a full-blown lovey-dovey romance.

the story itself had a lot of possibilities. It was progressing so well, that when you reach the middle part, you start to wonder how the mangaka can finish it without compromising anything...? She didn't. And that was the problem! Heck! I was like, "What...? That was it?" The story wasn't finished. It did hinted on the relationship of the two but none of that confirmation or any lovey-dovey was in it. I was too stunned to even utter anything. It was terrible!
